Al-Sandcastle - the sportswashing barcodes

It’s entertainment and it allows escapism and it’s frankly needed at the moment.

1 win 3 draws in the last 4 league games. 1 goal scored 0 conceded.

ASM was easily their best player before the Saudi takeover but now he’s just a squad player it seems.

They seem to be our biggest rival for a Top4 spot - who would have thought 5 months ago.

Think we will catch them.

I’m not sure how hopeful to allow myself to be.

Top four has not gone yet, but the amount of points we drop, and the quantity of iffy displays, make me wonder where a good run is going to come from.

It is doable, but we need to find more.

That’s nothing more than Neville justifying his own decision to take money from Qatar.

Big fan for the day

ABU here. Newcastle could be owned by North Korea and Tony Blair today and I’d still support them. Hell, @Mascot could be their mascot and I’d be cheering them on.

Fair enough.

I would prefer newsandcastle to win but admit I would miss rival fans singing you haven’t won a trophy since 1955

This. It’s the testament of how threating the sports washing has become that wouldn’t mind a rival to win a trophy.

It’s not in my radar, but I will see the result later on. There will be a silver lining no matter what, since I don’t like either one. Short of a meteor landing on the pitch, I would take some controversy, hard feelings, and injuries on both sides.

Didn’t know James Cordon supported sandcastle :0)

So, so, happy that this abomination of a football club didn’t win the trophy. It may be inevitable, but it has been delayed.

And lest we forget ;

It would not surprise me in the slightest to see the rules tightened up, and a regulator installed.

It is not beyond football to get its act together, and work on closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.

Chumps.

Here’s quote from the PL chairman Richard Masters given in the Guardian article. Do we think he’ll be true to his word? Mmmm … no.

The Premier League and Newcastle declined to comment. The league’s chief executive, Richard Masters, told the BBC in November 2021 that if his organisation found evidence there was state involvement in the running of the club “we can remove the consortium as owners of the club”.

Even if they wanted to , how on earth could they that ?
