Al-Sandcastle - the sportswashing barcodes

It wont surprise you to see that is a really lazy comparison, but if you’re trying to gauge him against them then Gattuso is far closer. A mid 20s Hendo is probably a better example. High work rate, forces mistakes from opponents and while he uses the ball well enough he isnt who you’d be looking to give it to get an attacking going or make a killer pass. Better in transitions than in a team that dominates possession.

That just seems like a bit of trash talk to me. Stevie played against him, what, 2-3 times maybe? Stevie could also both respond and impose all of what Gattuso could do, so I understand whether he wasn’t really impressed or indimidated by him. I wasn’t a big Gattuso fan. He certainly wouldn’t have played regularly for the teams he did if he was all aggressive without certain quality as well. But yeah, he was one of the most combative and defensively reliable midfielders of his generation.

I saw an AC Milan fan post a clip of his “favourite Tonali moment” which was Leao diving and pretending to be injured, the other team’s player half heartedly tried to pick him up, Tonali came sprinting over and shoves him in the chest then shouts at him. The opposition player just walks away.

It was a bit “Lampard shouted at Klopp” tbh. He’ll fit in with the time wasting shithouses that Howe has collected though.

…and that’s a highlight?

Off course they did, the steady flow of brown envelopes will make sure of that …

I have to say if Liverpool signed say Dominik and it was made clearly he was forced out for cash reasons I’d be concerned.

From one SA-owned club to another …

Annoying. Unsurpising. Football is fucked.

Wasn’t going to start for Newcastle. Most of the ‘stars’ that are flocking to Saudi are…

  1. Wankers
  2. Not first choice at their current clubs.

I can’t see these as anything other than insane wastes of money by the Saudis. They could have probably just bought UEFA for cheaper.

Ironic isn’t it? Chelsea Utd Arsenal are the main perpetrators as to why the market has fluctuated past the point of control over the last 2 decades.

Take away it’s Al Ahli, don’t see anything wrong with ASM going for £30m.

What explanation is it exactly they’re wanting to hear?

Ever heard of Man City?

Should BBC deal in such hyperbole? They had a good match, yes, but to me they aren’t special, let alone special special, and the start wasn’t even perfect because Villa scored.
