Alex OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN: 2020/21

I know players returning from injuries (VVD, Gomez, Matip) are maintaining their rehabilitation program during the summer months. Seeing AOC kicking in his fitness program two weeks before the preseason camp, he must be dead serious about maintaining his place in the squad.

Posting this so that people can have the same heated discussions about Ox like itā€™s been going on about Shaq or Origi.

Have fun.

Do not sell Ox, The end. Thank you for attending my Ted Talk

Isnā€™t earning his quite high wages. Two years left on his deal. If we donā€™t sell him this window or extend his deal then we will literally get buttons for him next summer. We shouldnā€™t extend his deal as he already gets paid too much for what he contributes and thatā€™ll send a bad message out to the rest of the team, some of which will be contributing more for less pay already. For me if we can sell this summer we need to.

My head is saying sell him ASAPā€¦
My heart is saying keep him and get him playing full timeā€¦

We either keep him or sell him. No loans.

He has looked really strong in pre-season, so unless West Ham throw money we canā€™t ignore at this, then I canā€™t see it happening.

Probably our weakest link in last Friday friendly, maybe use him in the Bowen deal

Maybe thatā€™s why they are interested, he looks fit and sharp.

I think we should keep Ox for another season. If we sell or let him go on loan, he must be replaced. We need a strong squad, with the number of games to be played.

To me Ox and Keita always felt like alternatives for the same role. That is even more the case given they have both been frequently unavailable. There is a lot I like about Ox and so itā€™s difficult for me to get on board with letting him go, but I can see the rationale of replacing him with a new mid we hope to be more reliable, especially if there are positive vibes about Naby.
