Feels like 2008. Our most important player is Argentine, and when heās shite, weāre shite.
Itās a World Cup year, so I expected him to be firing on all cylinders. His motor has only been sputtering so far⦠Whatever injury he is or was carrying, Iām really concerned it hasnāt healed yet. Heās not the quickest of lads but thereās no way Caicedo skips past him that easily at any point over the last two seasons.
Puerto ducking rico?
Yeah having watched the goals and some highlights, hardly a challenge for a team as good as Argentina.
In the PL, Macca doesnāt get the time and space he was afforded last night.
But, can only be a positive for him to have a good game. Suspect heāll be tired and unable to start for the Man U game.
Nice to see him have a good game. Letās see how it translates to the Prem, where he has been a little off for a while. Probably been carrying a slight injury and some tiredness more than anything else, as heās a smashing player. A tip-top Mac Allister is a fantastic player.
One thing I will say is he has bore the brunt of some awful, thuggish ātacklingā and itās amazing he hasnāt broken a leg, or done his ankle or knee ligaments. Referees seem to allow bad grocks to scythe him down, and I donāt get it.
He should be fine. Even if he doesnāt get back until tomorrow heāll still have 3 days to prepare. The fact he played 90 minutes suggests heās fit. I doubt it was particularly hard-fought either.
If that game renders him unable to play on Sunday then Iād suggest he finds himself a club that plays once a week. Someone like Everton.
I had thought heās played 2 x 90 mins, but he only got 15mins against Venezuela.
Either way, given heās working back to fitness, I donāt think he will start against United. If he does, heāll be off before the end.
I do agree, if he canāt handle playing every 4 days, we will have a problem - but we are far from that. Heās effectively in his pre-season, a bit like Isak.
To be fair theyāve done that in the last break as well.
Probably more pointed that he plays the latter game
We have no idea whatās his current state and we are not professional members of staff. Heās fit to play and was playing lately for us (though clearly not in his best form). Not surprised he was called up and used by Argentina in some capacity. At club level, weāre also trying to have him on the pitch as much as he can or the staff judges he has in him. Heās a key player for us and an important player for them also. I donāt see any issues, hopefully heāll be back to his best soon. And with health/injuries, you always need a bit of luck as well.
Can Dom do one of these please.
Love how shithousery the guy is
Wish he would consistently play like did in the past two seasons. I think he has now scored as many goals against Real Madrid as Mane, Firmino and Salah combined!
āA title winning flopā
Ah but trophies donāt count for that lot⦠mind you itās been so long theyāve probably forgot what they are.
