Alexis MAC ALLISTER: 2025/26

His wife timed that well in the week where we play the second side

Whoever times it for the international break will win mind.

Feels like 2008. Our most important player is Argentine, and when he’s shite, we’re shite.

It’s a World Cup year, so I expected him to be firing on all cylinders. His motor has only been sputtering so far… Whatever injury he is or was carrying, I’m really concerned it hasn’t healed yet. He’s not the quickest of lads but there’s no way Caicedo skips past him that easily at any point over the last two seasons.

Puerto ducking rico?

Yeah having watched the goals and some highlights, hardly a challenge for a team as good as Argentina.

In the PL, Macca doesn’t get the time and space he was afforded last night.

But, can only be a positive for him to have a good game. Suspect he’ll be tired and unable to start for the Man U game.

Nice to see him have a good game. Let’s see how it translates to the Prem, where he has been a little off for a while. Probably been carrying a slight injury and some tiredness more than anything else, as he’s a smashing player. A tip-top Mac Allister is a fantastic player.

One thing I will say is he has bore the brunt of some awful, thuggish ā€˜tackling’ and it’s amazing he hasn’t broken a leg, or done his ankle or knee ligaments. Referees seem to allow bad grocks to scythe him down, and I don’t get it.

He should be fine. Even if he doesn’t get back until tomorrow he’ll still have 3 days to prepare. The fact he played 90 minutes suggests he’s fit. I doubt it was particularly hard-fought either.
If that game renders him unable to play on Sunday then I’d suggest he finds himself a club that plays once a week. Someone like Everton.

I had thought he’s played 2 x 90 mins, but he only got 15mins against Venezuela.

Either way, given he’s working back to fitness, I don’t think he will start against United. If he does, he’ll be off before the end.

I do agree, if he can’t handle playing every 4 days, we will have a problem - but we are far from that. He’s effectively in his pre-season, a bit like Isak.

To be fair they’ve done that in the last break as well.

Probably more pointed that he plays the latter game

We have no idea what’s his current state and we are not professional members of staff. He’s fit to play and was playing lately for us (though clearly not in his best form). Not surprised he was called up and used by Argentina in some capacity. At club level, we’re also trying to have him on the pitch as much as he can or the staff judges he has in him. He’s a key player for us and an important player for them also. I don’t see any issues, hopefully he’ll be back to his best soon. And with health/injuries, you always need a bit of luck as well.

Wish he would consistently play like did in the past two seasons. I think he has now scored as many goals against Real Madrid as Mane, Firmino and Salah combined!

ā€œA title winning flopā€

Ah but trophies don’t count for that lot… mind you it’s been so long they’ve probably forgot what they are.
