Assist for Messi tonight. Played RCM in Argentina’s usual something between a 4-3-3 and a 4-2-2-2 structure that allows Messi freedom and protection.
He’s a fucking crab and should be one of the first out the door.
Probably wants to leave and the hierarchy not engaging in new contract talks hints they’re ok with that.
I think with the amount of football he has played over the recent years, the global travel etc…to me anyway, he seems to have hit the proverbial ‘brick wall’… Energy gone, enthusiasm gone, fire in his belly gone, PL ambitions gone… he is a shell of the player that was guided under Jurgen… Hate saying this, but Sell Sell Sell…!
It looks to me as though he is managing himself to be ready and firing for the World Cup. This season he has been way off what we’ve seen from him in a Liverpool shirt. I don’t think he has become a bad player as such, even though he has not been great for us this season. I think it’s a case of they can’t do it all and, he has been coasting at Liverpool for a while.
Obviously that is problematic in its own way, and I expect Macca to be sold this summer as we rebalance the midfield. It remains to be seen how many come in, but at the least, someone like Wharton in exchange for Macca would be a step in the right direction. Add a winger or two, maybe another central defender and a full back, and we will be ready to go again.
Crucially it must be under a new manager. Someone with a clear vision for how he wants them to play. Someone with standards, who will lay down the law. Someone who will look at us, and know he can get more, and will be excited to come in and make his mark. Someone with a connection to the club.
It’s Alonso. It has to be.
He was mostly poor last season too.
Point on Rome is true, recovery day maybe two but that shouldn’t be trips to Rome.
It’s connected to the money as they can be on a jet and in numerous places in Europe in 2-3 hours. I’d like to see a tighter policy on that. Recovery day? Massage. Light warm down stuff at the training ground. Or potter around the house.
Not sure how enforceable it is, but a travel limit on days off seems sensible to me.
Well he shouldn’t be jumping on a jet, I know they have a shorter holiday period but if they had concentrated over the last 7-8 months they would be comfortably third.
They were in Rome together with the Szobo family and had a shared plane.
Legs have gone. Fuck him off
Really couldn’t care if they teleported it’s poor show by both of them but then if the manager said no then they wouldn’t.
I was only 13 but it’s certainly got vibes of the 1996 Armani suits.
it does.
and even if its not as bad as it looks… why are they advertising it to all and sundry? where the media manager in all of this?
its negligent. felt a bit tone deaf when we’d just won the league…now its just riduculous
More days off instead of training—how many times has this happened just because our trainer can go home? Goodness, how much longer do we have to put up with this?
I reckon that the thinking is the less time they spend with the coaching team the better they’ll become/get.
Until May 24th. That’s my guess. Last day of the season, Brentford at home. Hopefully we will have qualified for the CL by then, or at worst we clinch it on the day.
And I think that’s when an announcement about Slot will be made, so he can wave goodbye to the fans. In an instant, it will give the whole club a boost as we can look ahead with renewed hope for what the new campaign might bring under the new man.
Alonso announced May 25th. Let’s have the last day, and a few farewells, then bam, it’s Xabi’s time.
Highly doubt they would do something like that, announcements out of the blue on the pitch and leaving Slot there open to various reactions (which there would surely be).
It just wouldn’t be serious and professional enough for a club of this size and reputation.
You are probably right.
I’m just thinking get all the business done, draw a line under it and move on.
But I would imagine an end of season review, a quick decision, and Xabi installed pronto afterwards. And Slot does not get a goodbye with the fans, only an agreed upon statement as part of his severance.
Macca has won a World Cup and a Premier League. I am worried that he just doesn’t give a fuck anymore.
