Alisson BECKER: 2025/26

Injured again according to Paul Gorst and won’t travel to Turkey.

This is why I really wouldn’t be surprised if he were to leave this summer.

There was a time I’d have been arsed.

Even if it didn’t come directly from Friday’s game, still don’t understand why he wasn’t just given some time off. Utterly pointless game for him to have played in.

We. can’t. catch. a. break.

We have no idea what’s the issue. In the last 2 seasons he played 32 and 35 games (missed 20 league games across those 2 seasons, 10+10), now he’s “already” on 32. It’s not ideal, but it’s far from a catastrophy either. It’s also why we continue having a “serious” backup. It doesn’t mean we have to part ways this summer. I’d like him to be here next season and we continue assessing the situation in the GK department until then.

It would be utterly idiotic to sell Alisson for missing 15-20 games a year, unless there are serious concerns that it’s going to get a lot worse.

Mamardashvili hasn’t shown anything to suggest that he is capable to start for Liverpool and with Salah and Van Dijk on their way out too, replacing another totemic figure becomes all that difficult.

No, not yet. We have far more pressing conerns in the squad for re building.

Goalkeepers as we have seen in the past for our team and others, absolutely have to be recruited properly.

A couple more season with Ali in and out the team is better than Mamardashvili and having to invest in a new one coming in.

A fantastic goalkeeper but just like Sturridge, the slightest twinge and he’s out.

not an issue.

probably prolonging his career

i think the trend going forward would be to have keepers share the role more anyways
most keepers (ignores grabara) always back each other. makes much sense for them to share the role.

Marma a mile off Ali from what ive seen

Well, there would have been a good opportunity to do without Ali in the FA cup game, but rotation isn’t really Slots’ thing, and now, unfortunately, it’s the case that Mama is forced to make his appearance in a different cup and Ali gets his break anyway. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Goalkeeper Hugo Souza is called up for the Brazilian national team
He will replace Alisson, away because of an injury
CBF Advisory

Updated About 2 hours ago

Goalkeeper Hugo Souza was summoned this Friday (20) by coach Carlo Ancelotti to the friendlies of the next FIFA Date, against France (26) and Croatia (31), in Boston and Orlando, respectively.

Hugo Souza will replace Liverpool’s Alisson, who was injured.

Odd - I assumed, given the recent injury niggle has meant there’s been a pre-agreement between the club and Brazil to not call up Ali on the basis that he could do with some rehab/recovery work and that the matches are friendly’s, but he was called up a few days ago so that can’t be the case. Guess, since missing the Gala game, he’s not got to where anticipated.

Giorgi is an able replacement.

Hope he won’t miss the World Cup.
I have never ever cotton on to any Brazil team, not supporting them even once.
I’m always behind Argentina, with Uruguay next in line, but will be happy if they win this one
with Alisson in the team.

Of course he’s also unavailable for the Brighton match.

Hopefully just minor and a way to withdraw from International duty for the next few weeks to properly recover.

Still though, mental how much he gets injured for a goalie.

Of course it’s not to miss the international break (why would he want to miss that?), but hopefully he is back soon.
