Andy ROBERTSON: 2020/21

The biggest issue with using Robbo at CB is replacing what he does at LB. I think Milner is 2 years past being able to do a job there and Tsimikas hasn’t been healthy enough to show whether he is at the needed level.

Hendo or Fab at CB works because the are still many midfield options that don’t represent a significant drop off.

Doesn’t Robertson at all practice shooting during training??? Can’t remember when was the last time his shot was on target! Had a great opportunity to score last night.

Klopp said he could have had a hat trick.

Come on he’s not Alberto Moreno. His headed chance was unfortunate did all the right things just couldn’t keep it up. He goes for power so if it’s on target it goes in, just the on target bit is missing. At least there’s someone hitting it hard with no dithering about.

I’m not complaining. Just annoyed to see him blazing the ball.

Come on I was trying to keep it light hearted, did you miss the Moreno bit?

I was very happy with the way he created space for himself. But yeah, technically he’s not of the highest level, that was also always clear. As long as he does the basics well, I’m totally fine.

This guy needs a rest. I haven’t seen him this tattered.

His passing was diabolical last night, so many simple passes either underhit or given straight to Leipzig.

He was our best player up until about 6 weeks ago, since then he’s looked like a Hull player. Hopefully Tsimikas can stay fit now and offer some cover/competition.

I’m not sure if I should blame Klopp for the form of some players because he hardly gives them a rest but Robertson and Mane look slower and more ponderous than at any point in their Liverpool careers and I’d say it’s only getting worse in their case. Tsimikas must be cursing his luck, having suffered from corona and all the injuries, he’s now fully fit but has played about ten minutes over the last two months if I’m not mistaken.

I actually liked some glimpses of Tsimikas, though that was more technically and going forward. I think a few players also said he’s a good player. There were some rumours that we rejected a loan move for him from Turkey? Robbo is a machine, but we need to give him a breather here and there. Especially since Trent is playing a bit deeper this season, his passes get to all corners of the pitch anyway and Robbo is more the one who needs to go up and down a lot more to be the best version of himself.

Same here actually but I’m not really sure what I’m basing my opinion on anymore, that’s how rarely we see him on the pitch! He had a few nice moves in those five minutes he spent on the pitch last night, winning the ball high up, trying to break forward with intent. I don’t have a clue what’s he’s like in defence, especially one-on-one, though.

Robertson; 38 games, 3268 mins, is thoroughly knackered and in urgent need of a break. Tsimikas is good but I guess Klopp is reluctant to throw him in the deep end since we are in such a dire situation and any mistake (by Tsimikas) will be unduly amplified. So the dilemma.

I’m sure on here there will be a few that even if he does something good will down grade it to insignificant or worst! :rage:

Robertson has featured in 41 of our 42 games and has clocked 3358 mins so far this season. Now he is off to play three internationals in seven days. Madness.

vs. Austria Mar 25
@ Israel Mar 28
vs. Faroe Island Mar 31

For me Robbo needs a rest, Klopp needs to trust Tsimikas to be able to do a job.

Hopefully he will rotate with Tierney and get a rest.

I think thats been made much worse due to the backline being so unstable. If we had had Van Dijk back there I think Kostas would have got more minutes.
