Good goal, good assist, stupid tackle, so-so performance other than the goal & assist. Seems to be more dangerous when he attacks the space for a one-touch finish (Villa header, Salzburg goal, Arsenal goal, etc.) rather than trying to build himself a position to shoot. In the few times I’ve watched Liverpool live under Klopp, I’ve noticed during warm ups how they work with Robbo in those situations when he can try 1v1 and attack the goal. Not his strength. I also think Millie at LCM didn’t play well so our game on the left side was a little bit slow and predictable, at least in that preparation phase.
Klopp was right. He lost it for a few seconds. It’s unusual to see one of our players lose his discipline like that but he’s big enough to accept responsibility for it. He has been consistently good since the last international break. Excellent again yesterday given there was almost no cover at all from the midfield when he went forward. People were very quick to write him off but he’s proved what a great player he still is.
Maybe Andy lost it because Kane almost broke his leg and got away with it. That’s no excuse but the game was very tense and emotional.
Robbo got fouled.
Assisted one goal.
And scored one.
Crazy game for him.
if you watch the replay of the red, Robbo got more of the ball than Kane did!

Postponement of the Leeds game means he now misses Chelsea as the third match of his suspension. Would have felt awful a year or two ago but Tsimi will do well covering.
Means he will have had 2/3 weeks rest before he next plays. I pity the teams who comes up against a fully rested robbo in the middle of the most draining part of the season
Love you man @SixpenceNun
200th appearance against Arsenal in the League Cup semi final 2nd leg.
7 assists in his last 11 games.
Yeah, I’m fine with our starting LB.
Had to laugh at the stat in the first half in the last 8 games assists read
Robbo 8
TAA 4
All others tied on 3
I nearly added this comment to the Elliott thread, but really this one deserves to be here.
I just saw a video of the celebration after Elliott’s goal and as it was ending Robbo pulled him away from the group, said something in his ear then pushed him back towards the crowd so he could savor the reception a bit longer.
Here it is

Interview with Robbo on the been (for Football Focus this coming Sat).
Robbo aiming for the assists record for a fullback in the PL (Leighton Bains with 53), but admitting that Trent will breeze past whatever he achieves.
Robbo’s on 47, Trents on 43.
I’m thinking that sadly for him, Trent will probably get there first…
Tsimikas has even pushed Robbo to improve his corners!
They’ve been lethal recently.
What a guy, plays like he’s on trial or something.
Really good when our CB’s are in trouble, there’s a gap centrally and he appears out of nowhere to make a last ditch tackle or something. At the Nou Camp he did that a few times, that was one of his best games for us.
Better at doing stuff like that than holding the offside line. Some passses were also crap, sometimes needs better accuracy.
Great energy in the second half to keep pushing on.
His recycling of the ball for the second goal yesterday was superb.
That 1 clip sums robbo up.
Defending 75 yards from his goal and playing a lovely ball across the face for Bobby to flick home.
Poetry in motion
Some shitty touches tonight, but he’s on 14 assists now which is his record in a season since he’s been here.
