Andy ROBERTSON: 2024/25

I got the impression that Slot was defending him in the post-match interview but I’m concerned about Robertson. He’s no longer the swashbuckling power of nature who flew up and down the wing at ease and kept virtually faultless. I’m repeating myself but something’s got to give - either he has his minutes managed or he risks his career at the top level. That was a silly, silly mistake that cost the team two points but it wasn’t the first he’s made this season.

Agreed…Unfortunately, he is the Scots captain and will most likely retire from Internationals after the next world cup…By then, he could be playing his last season with the club…

I do think we’ll keep him around as a back-up option. His personality off the pitch is infectious, and while he has declined, I reckon we’ll sacrifice Tsimikas, bring in a new first choice LB, and Robertson will be the back-up.

Tsimikas is better than Robbo right now. His leg is gone, his technique is bellow average, his passing is not enough for our current system.

I thought AS was also making a point that Robbo should have asked to come off after the bad challenge… AS said it slowed him down - either way, full marks to Arne for going for it towards the end

Also realised we didn’t have Maca.

Can not play every three days anymore - we saw that before this season.

Which one?

Premature to say Robbo’s gone. He’s needed to play continuous games and mistakes do happen to everyone.

Yes. Horrible tackle and the red card is on him.

Hopefully , we get in Tsimikas and some more reinforcement over the Jan Window to get the clear run at the title.

Maybe he was ā€˜injured’ after the foul and that’s why he was late for the challenge.

He’s playing way to much he looked spent against Girona at the end though he played well.

It’s the little things that start to show you are getting old and the legs aren’t what they used to be.

Robbo covered the ball well but couldn’t sort out his feet to get a quality touch and it’s those things that are the start, you can still run, but the sharpness wanes.

This added to his age, too many games and little recovery time is affecting his performance, he still can be great but 1 game per week

Useful one

That’s what Arne said.

Then he should have asked to come off and use that break to disrupt fulham’s momentum…

Our second choice LB is out injured and our third choice LB was playing as CB because Ibou is injured and Quansah is having a bit of a confidence crisis. It seems pretty apparent Slot is aware he would benefit from being played less, but everyone is just knuckling down to get through this period until one of the alternative options becomes available.

A player rarely asks off - med staff and coaches need to look and make that choice for them. The sort of player you want on your team (the sort of personality Andy is) will keep going as long as they stand up.

Robbo sure as hell didn’t look right after that huge ass knock that took him out for a good 5 minutes. He was even limping a bit after getting to the touchline. This was alluded by Slot’s post-match as well.

There is a fine line between determination and listening to your body. Look at Fulham’s right back for the game. He got a knock he couldn’t shake off. He asked to be subbed off when the game is 1-1 with a man’s advantage at Anfield.
