Andy ROBERTSON: 2025/26

I still can’t bring myself to look at most of it yet either; sometime in a couple of months, I’ll catch up on it—once it doesn’t hurt quite so much anymore.

If you’ve watched the Robbo’s interview by Ian Wright with Gordon Strachan as guest, there is something that Strachan said that stood out, he suggested to Robbo on something similar to the following: At that stage of a footballer career, one have to go to where you are wanted, where you can help and provide leadership, go where you can influence, where the younger players will listen. Robbo did respond his influences was waning as he was not on the pitch as much.

I think going to Spurs would be good for Robbo. He will be one of the senior players to help guiding the younger ones, similar to what Hendo and Millie have been doing, especially with a new coach. I believe that Spurs will do well next year with better leadership in the changing room. We have lost too many captains, and the erosion of leadership type players will lead to our further spiral down the league table.

Love that letter from Robbo to Liverpool and the supporters.

If he is indeed going to London and plays for Spurs, his head will spin from culture shock.

I hope he goes to Brentford. He can team up Hendo.

Plus he can team up with that decent goalkeeper they have too.

One of my favourite Robbo moments was during the World Club tournament in Doha, Qatar.

The scene was, in the first half Sadio kept on getting fouled by the Flamingo player, Raphina? The idiot referee wouldn’t give anything to Sadio and our Sadio was getting frustrated as he was getting tripped left, right and centre.

Then, at half time Robbo reassured our Sadio. Something along the lines, don’t worry Sadio we will sort him out’.

Then, when the lads came on in the second half, Robbo started tripping up Raphina at every given opportunity, Glasgow style, when the Referee wasn’t looking :joy:

It was a joy to watch. I hope there is clip of it somewhere on Youtube.

The ending was the cherry on the cake. We won that tournament. I know it may not mean alot to some in Europe, I felt it meant alot. The fact that we were ‘world club champions’ and we beat the best team from south American (who believe World Club tournament is huge and take this tournament seriously. To beat a European team is their dream.

Just watched a video on the official site with all assists and goals from Robbo during his time with us. All these good times we had with him, what an exquisite passer and finisher. The complete package. We’ll miss him dearly next season… :sad_but_relieved_face:

Also, it was great to see all these young faces he assisted for goals, or scored from their passes, who are now much older, when they haven’t already hanged up their boots: Trent, Ings, Lovren, Gini, Shaq, Millie, Hendo, Fab, and of course the magical trio Bobby, Sadio and Mo!

Great, great times we’ve had with him. Now they are over and a new chapter will hopefully begin.

But we definitely need to find the same kind of character than Robbo when recruiting new players. We are short on those right now.

Unsure on the finisher bit :face_blowing_a_kiss:

But otherwise only man love for Robbo!

Only 2001 mins. To put it in perspective, his average in Liverpool is 3367mins.
