Does that make Ronnie Moran Nikola Tesla?

Well, with Edison you can add another 50% or so of theft and dishonesty.

Looks like Iraola is heading to Leverkusen.

I’d be interested to know what his excuse will be.

Does he need one? Who knows, LFC may have made initial contact, but Iraola was already in conversation over firm opportunities. What I do find interesting is that the Italian reports had Iraola wanting to stay in England and preferring Palace over Milan. Choosing Leverkusen must be a straight preference for the situation.

Iraola really rates Quansah highly and this is the only way he could get to work with him

Smart man.

I have no idea why he would go to Palace.

Very small incremental step up from Bournemouth (both in EL, Palace apparently has more money), but one doesn’t walk away from a stable situation for that kind of upgrade - the risk/reward just isn’t there. Yet that was the reporting when the talks with Milan cut off.

They generally leave it a bit open… I suppose he can bullshit that he turned it down, Indykalia after all has posted several different positions.

You worry for clubs like Bournemouth in that they always only 1 bad summer away from collapsing. Being able to keep replacing the players you lose to bigger clubs is so admirable, but sooner or later you make a bad bet and in the wrong season with a bit of bad luck that can lead to relegation. Maybe there is a sense that staying there is kind of like holding an old stick a dynamite that is liable to spontaneously explode at any time and so just wants to be somewhere else before that happens.

Yeah, ‘made contact with’ is not exactly going out on a limb.

Quite possible. It is interesting he gave them another year - wasn’t he offered the Spurs job last summer?

andoni knows slot is supposedly staying, why say he wants lfc or bayer?

Hopefully Iraola knows different!

I can see why Iraola might arrive at the conclusion that he had done all he could do at Bournemouth - his time to move on to the same kind of better-financed and more ambitious club that were poaching the players benefitting from his management. But to @Zoran’s point, that is not much different from Palace. After this season, it is probably only down for Iraola at Bournemouth. They may enjoy their season next year, but their squad will be far more stretched than it was this year and a bad run might see them at least worried about relegation (again, not that different from Palace this year)
