Arne Slot - Former Head Coach (Part 2)

Just goes to show again the suits uptop are clueless and running ego battles. Edwards and Hughes have survived this by lettig Arne be the bait.
I don’t trust them to make he right call for the next manager. I remember so many here gave great reviews and insights about how Edwards and Hughes have finalized Arne with data and coaching style replicated just like Klopp.
All I want now is a full reset. Both Edwards/Hughes should depart.

I’m really concerned that might be the case.

If Alonso didn’t want to work in the structure, you find a structure he will work in.

Is it because alonso is a manager we want head coach? Or vice versa. Something like that.

Has Iraola joined Leverkusen yet?

I’ll be fine, don’t you worry. I’d have just preferred we sacked him when there was actually an outstanding candidate to take over.

Anyway, it will probably be Iraola and I’ll get behind him.

I hate that this is the first time in months that I’m excited about Liverpool.

Thank God that they saw reason in the end.

Iraola should be seen as the outstanding candidate

Now that he is gone, it has to be said that it is probably the right decision and that the club took charge and made a decision. And I think now that is gone, Liverpool fans need to rein in the mockery and give him the basic respect of having won us the 20th. That is something that we should be grateful for.

Thanks Slot, but its probably the right decision for us to part ways.

I don’t know how Edwards’ data driven approach to judging coaches works but maybe they just don’t rate his body of the work the same way as we do.

I did say that I believe going to Chelsea is a risk for Alonso. If he fails there after getting the boot at Madrid in half a season then one great year in Germany starts to look a bit weak for applying for top jobs.

If its Iraola coming in then it suggests we rate an extended period of overachievement very highly since he’s coming off three back-to-back excellent - and steadily improving - seasons at Bournemouth even while losing his best players.

Actually the only surprise to me was that Iraola wasn’t hired when Hughes first came up from Bournemouth but that does lend weight to my thought that maybe its about having extended achievement not individual good years.

It could still turn out to be Glasner or Conte etc; we shouldn’t celebrate too soon.

Enrique announced Monday!

Are these 2 for real…big suits.no brains…I’m sure Xavi wouldve loved the LFC job…the fans woukd love him…and hopefully the players…but now we get an ok manager…who may or may not be any good…can the 2 suits please listen to people around them…and not check their bank balance…

Amen to this. The celebratory gifs posted by lads who should know better are disappointing. Whenever a manager is sacked it’s an admission of failure and no-one should celebrate that.

Next order of business, give Jones a hug, tell Inter to fuck off.

Has Enrique signed that extension yet? It’s the final tonight, isn’t it,

A hug and a new contract

Fuck that. We were only headed in one direction under Slot and it wasn’t up. I’m thrilled he’s gone and can now look to the future instead of feeling dread about the upcoming season.
