Arne Slot - Former Head Coach (Part 2)

Slots biggest failing was his reluctance to move his family to Liverpool and instead commuted back and forth to Holland.

To be fair to Lynch he has slagged the performances off since about Feb.

But yeah inside scoop when their sources suggested he was fully backed, I’ll wait and see.

Please stop conflating wanting the right on-pitch leadership with actively wanting to shit in Slot.

Yes sometimes some will go over the line but that happens with any big change in any walk of life.

Very curious point of view you have on this.

I was wondering if it was timed like this to get drowned out by the CL final. But probably has nothing to do with it, don’t think it matters.

Seems to me all of this has been planned months ago. It’s no coincidence that a manager of Iraola’s quality did not have a job lined up after leaving Bournemouth. It’s also clear that either Alonso did
Not want the job or LFC did not have interest in hiring him. In the end the right decision was made to sack Slot. Let’s see if the right decision is bringing Iraola in. It’s quite a jump but I can’t deny that I am excited for the possibility. He has proven that he can improve players and punch above his weight, while playing an exciting brand of football. All in the PL as well. Let’s see how this goes!

I’ve felt the same thing for a while. He never seemed like he built a connection to the area.

I read some mitigators in here suggesting, ah well, Slot will be remembered for last years Title, and not this season over time.

Thats only because there are literally no highlights available for this season to compile a reel.

Tell it how it is. that was probably as bad a season as Ive ever seen from LFC.

Good riddance to a completely stubborn and uninspiring man.

What did I miss?

I fall off my bike and chaos reigns.

We will see. The squad is good, we need at least 4 new signings /which is not that much as the club lost Konate, Robbo, Salah on free transfers and will sell other players/. Don’t forget that under Slot a lot of good players looked like shadows of themselves - Wirtz, Kerkez /with Iraola he played 38 PL matches with 2 goals and 6 assists, under Slot he had 2 goals and 1 assist for 34 PL matches and at the end of the season Robertson played most of the matches/, McAllister, Frimpong, Gravenberch, Gakpo, Isak.

If Andoni manages to have the best version of these players, the club will probably need to sign - right back, defensive midfielder and 2 wingers. Hopefully Ngumoha and Nyoni will have more chances to play.

I guess we will start the season with this group of players:

GK - Alisson, Mamardashvili, Woodman

Defenders - new right back, Frimpong, Kerkez, Tsimikas, Van Dijk, Gomez, Leoni, Jacquet. Bradley /injured and he will not be ready for the start of the season. I am not sure, if we will sign another central defender.

Midfielders - new defensive midfielder, Gravenberch, Maca, Szoboszlai, Wirtz, Nyoni. Jones and Endo will probably be sold.

Forwards - 2 new players, Isak, Gakpo, Rio, Ekitike /long term injury/. Chiesa will be sold.

Where were these articles until now? Did Lynch just found out that Slot didn’t care about the Academy or that he was perceived not to understand the size of the club?

Well, it’s not that bad a thing to be remembered for, is it? They don’t come around very often.

I’m not. I’m saying celebrating him being sacked is classless and we should be better than this.

I’ve no problem with people seeing his removal as necessary, or criticising his work.

Hence why the losses in the academy at all levels almost matched the first team’s ones.

These journalists just know and write what certain people want them to know and write at any given time. Nothing new, but some of them could do without acting like they’re investigative super spies

Enrique going to take over. Should have fallen off around January.

I criticised his work, saw his removal as necessary and am now celebrating that it’s happened.

I can live with being 33% classless, I guess.

My money is on Edwards out of the door next.
FSG have always been shrewd and I can’t believe heads will not roll after this season and Arne will be the only casualty.

Even the multi-club model is no more in the making for FSG. So, I can’t see Edwards stay. He must go for me !!!

No one knows what Edwards role actually is.

Ive mixed feelings about his entire tenure. But who would turn a title down. I also think that team were, on balance, better than Arsenal who won this year.

But come on, this season has been rock bottom, blow after blow, poor decisions, intransigence in the face of prior errors, we have been badly embarrassed right through the game. It was the travel, the fall, was too much to take on one season.

Now I understand why you haven’t been posting as much as before unless it was due to illness I hope I am wrong on that.
