its a different take, i give you that…
The way I see it is that we were a good enough side to finish in the top 4 even if Slot stuck to the direct football tactics. By going in for that possession oriented tactics and with no end result at all to prove for it , slot basically dug a hole for himself.
The pragmatic tactics are alright if the team ends up competing or even winning some trophies at the end. Otherwise it gets really grating.

I wonder if it was the blame on injuries solely or the demands of the transfer window.
I think there was something when VVD showed up at the U21s with Inglethorpe.
It was that obvious and the fact was it was getting worse, Think it was between the Gala and another game I couldn’t see us for a month and when I got back to watching us we looked even worse than I remembered.
I really dislike how he is labelling Klopp’s football as chaotic and Slot’s as possessive. Seems to have become a trend among fans and pundits alike.
Klopp’s football was way too controlled and organised to be characterised as chaotic, especially his better, more mature teams. Slot’s football on the other hand, is literally indescribable as no one could actually tell what we were trying to do.
Thank you Arne for giving us number 20. You’ll always be remembered fondly and appreciated for that as well as having to deal with Diogo passing. All the best to you.
Totally agree. In fact, I would say Klopp’s style was controlled and directed chaos. While Slot’s attempts devolved into attempt at possession football that would unravel into uncontrollable chaos for us.
I just saw a video that made a good point. Slot was hired because of data simulations based on the squad we had in 23/24. He took that squad and won the league.
Then Jota passes away and half the team changes. Isak get injured, Ekitike gets injured, the style of the PL changes to even more physical and set piece based.
As the video put it - “the situation he was hired for was no longer the one he was managing”.
I think that’s a fair enough summary.
Rodgers 2.0, in that if he was a good fit for a team already in place he could take them and even make them better. Ask him to build a team and was seriously found wanting.

He deserves it.
Sport Bild is apparently reporting something similar; other details will surely come to light. But Wirtz, for example, didn’t make a farewell post.
I’ll take that report with a big handful of salt.
Anyway, the Times reported that:
Arne Slot rejects Fulham approach amid Netherlands link
Dutchman, who was sacked by Liverpool last week, is not interested in vacancy in west London and is taking his time to choose next role
Behind paywall:
I swear, I read “vacation” and immediately thought, “Slot doesn’t want a vacation … ![]()
He needs to choose the vacancy that best meets his vacation-needs.
