Why do I get that weird feeling that Slot will end up as the head coach of the Netherland’s men national team after the WC as it literally suits his lifestyle the best?
And this world cup might be VVD’s last world cup where he quits national team duties the moment Slot takes helm of the national team?

The historical precedence set by previous teams ensures that even a semifinal appearance in the coming euros grants him a contract extension.
I don’t have any animosity towards him. He tried his best after being dealt a tough hand in his second season.
Liverpool generally don’t sack coaches after one bad season following a very good first season , but I assume they thought he wasn’t suitable for the football they wanted Liverpool to play.
Then he can bore the Dutch to sleep with his Slott-ball.

Why would anyone have any animosity toward him. It’s not like we chose him. He didn’t deliver what we were ‘promised’ that’s on others heads. So yes I do question Hughes and Edwards and have some questions over their suitability.
I disliked Hogdson’s ‘style’ even before he was appointed yet have no animosity toward him. Then learnt about Rodgers’ failings no animosity there either. Souness …
All just the wrong person at the wrong time. I do hope the club has learnt some lessons and that Iraola does us proud.
He spoke the right game but his second season was bleh to say the least. It wasn’t mostly on him either but he got into cruise mode towards the end of the first season and never really recovered from it.
Edwards and Hughes deserve some scrutiny. But I do think that Slot’s failure to replace his assistant coach , after the end of his first season adequately played a huge part in the football that was served up.
I can criticize him without holding any animosity towards him.
He’s a far better coach than Brendan.
I think a change was for the best after the second season, but the lad won a league title. The one that took us level with United. I don’t really understand how he could be described as the wrong man.
When a cocky fighter gets in the ring, especially for their support base, the worry is that somewhere along the way they have lost the motivation and fire in their belly that brought them thus far.
We are not aware of this; although it remains a big possibility; Slot let his application to the job slide in a few directions once PL was secured, with focus and application not being as it once was. This then proved difficult, viz, impossible to recapture.
Maybe Edwards and Hughes did get it right initially with Slot, and what they ended up with; and out of their control; was a manager who lost his way due to a changed attitude towards a role he was brought in to do…Maybe they had seen this change at close quarters, and thought f**k this, he has to go.
Personally, I can’t see him being a success anywhere else.
Because it’s not solely about whether or not the side won the league, or any other major honour.
