Arne Slot - Head Coach (Part 2)

Maybe just some bland holding statement in terms of announcements to be made in future…

But you are right. It doesn’t matter what they say, people will speculate according to their agenda, and if you look at the history of the club, they tend not to say anything until there is something official to announce.

I’d imagine that moving to hire an assistant is a pretty clear sign that Slot isn’t leaving.
What I’d like to know is why have they made that decision? What do the clubs managers see that we don’t? The deficiencies of the tactics, coaching and leadership are so obvious to all of us who support the club, they must be clear to the owners too.

Quite crudely, I think they are watching numbers and we are looking for beauty.

But the numbers are atrocious.

The numbers looks worse. 50 + league goals conceded in a season and the PPG per game for the last 30 league games looks dire…

You can still see on the sign that it used to be “Highland Adventure Safaris” now just “Highland Safaris” - make of that what you will

Yeah, that’s the big question, isn’t it… on all possible records, this season has been an abomination. IF they decide to keep him, they must have a massive inside information - possibly something very private - they don’t want to release to the fans.

Anyway, that’s only speculation. The review is likely being done as we speak, and if its conclusion is that Slot must be replaced, they won’t hire the new assistant. I still expect this scenario to be the most likely.

And @Notasuperfan

Indeed, I agree with you both, but formula always includes a future, and I expect some cybermetric projection will be going on? We have all the data but the period they are using.

Which if you really boil it down is just a structured Doris Stokes approach.

Here’s a thought. Since she died, has Doris managed to make contact with the living?

Yes you are coming through…

I do love the Highland Coos to be fair

Is a bland holding statement going to do anything to take away from the uncertainty or speculation?

Think we just have to wait it out

If Romano is right, and last week he said there would be a thorough review, but that it would be conducted this week, then I would imagine we are on the second day of that review process, after the Bank Holiday. I would have thought we will be hearing something, one way or the other, by the end of the week.

And we need to! Because if he is staying, we as fans need to have a chance to regroup and choose to get behind it, as best as we can, for the new season. Otherwise it is self-defeating.

And if he is going, then obviously that needs to be enacted so we can get on with putting a new future in place under a new man.

My take is it is going to be Iraola. I think he wanted to go home for a week after the season. He will have a few clubs coming in for him. I believe AC Milan are interested, and that’s what is in the public sphere.

If we are interested I think we will swoop, yes swoop - it’s a good word for this time of the year when it comes to football business

But first the review. How many days to add up the goals conceded? The matches lost? The disquiet from multiple players? The boos from the match going fans?

We should know one way or the other very soon.

Italian press says Iraola is weighing offers from Palace and Milan, and will be deciding this week.

Iraola has come out and stated that if he gets the job at Anfield, his first signing will be his twin brother - he plays in goal..

Yes, I can see he will be a good shot-stopper, but what’s his kicking game like?

What is a thorough review going to find out though?

I can save them the time. We have been crap for well over a year. Our style is crap, our results are crap, our morale is crap. Who is in charge of all that? Replace that person.

We qualified for the CL.
Thats the numbers

All thanks to the efforts of those managers in England who did really well in European competitions before he came to England.

5th in 3 seasons ago would be Europa League .

Slot’s furthest venture in the UCL before LFC is being knocked out of the group stages to Europa League in a group with Atletico Madrid, Lazio and Celtic and then got knocked out by Roma in the UEL via penalties.

A truly not stellar record in Europe.
