For me the smartest move would be to bring Klopp back as the DOF.

If the club truly wants continuity it’s an ideal role with much lower pressure. He can have far more of a hands on role, almost cherry pick parts of a managers job he wants and guide a younger coach.

Last time I tweeted was to Linda a decade or so ago (I had to break up a paragraph into a number of tweets due to the character limit) to ask her to say to John about sacking Rodgers. He got sacked the following day.

I have a lot of sympathy with this viewpoint, and I prefer dirty laundry to be washed inside. Arguably, since he is going, this is Mo’s last big effort on behalf of the club and not himself, as he genuinely does believe we are on the wrong lines.

Going further up the food chain it is a failure of leadership by the suits. Salah speaking out is a symptom of their inaction and inability to lead, and deal with the situation in a more timely manner.

I expect it will be swift now.

I really wonder whether this divide Slot vs Salah is why a lot of players are not pulling their weight and we are not playing as a team. Rarely is it only one side.

Imo, seems like both might be a bit toxic at this point.

I would keep Hughes, but have him report to Klopp. Hughes handles all budgets, contracts, wages, perhaps leads the scouting ands analytical side.

Klopp looks after long term footballing strategy, youth development, manager selection. Club culture and philosophy.

Transfer committee of Klopp, Hughes and the coach.

Coach, looks after tactics, player selection, first team player development.

Salah’s comments are being taken as a shot at Arne, but I don’t see them as out of bounds or inappropriate. Certainly not like the tantrum he threw last winter. But I just can’t imagine what he’ll say once he leaves.

It’s a masterclass on how to say Slot without saying Slot. What Mo has said is what I think the vast majority of supporters feel.

I’m changing my opinions reactively - Mo Salah fucked up in a big way today. He wasn’t interviewed, he made the announcement timing as an ex-Liverpool legend.

I recall a lot of other legends, letting the dust settle for a couple of years before talking about the story.

The day everyone realized for sure that H&G&Management were full of shit, was the day Rafa told us so. A lot of people felt it, yet they just couldn’t confirm it..

It needed to be said now, not in a couple of years. I think Salah has said it from a position of love for the club and one of obvious frustration. Timing means there will be minimal impact on the end of this season, but there is enough time for it to have an influence on the next.

From his perspective he’s timed it perfectly. He can’t even be dropped for the final game for speaking out. Slot couldn’t drop him from his final home game, he’d take so much crap if he did.
