Arne Slot - Head Coach (Part 2)

Is that like the German reds here in general disliking Bayern the Bully?

Yep this is pretty much where I am. I am wiling to accept Alonso was not the best choice to replace him, but I am damned if I know who is better. It concerns me that all the names mentioned are either pie in the sky options (Luis Enrique) or have the same unanswered questions about them as Slot had before he arrived regarding experience and being pressure tested.

You dont want to make the mistake of over rotating away from what was perceived to have been the previous guy’s limitations, but it is concerning that all the attractive candidates are attractive in part because they havent had the opportunity to fail in a high profile high expectation role yet

Filipe Luis? Too young and unproven but really liked how his team played at the CwC

If we can get Enrique, I’d be thrilled.

If there’s one, small glimmer of hope there that’s worth keeping an eye on - journalists have reported for about a month now that Enrique has allegedly agreed to an extension with PSG, but there have not been any direct indications that he actually signed the agreement. Prior to this alleged agreement, the strong assumption was that Enrique wasn’t long for Paris because of some internal dynamics.

Maybe he’s holding off because he’s secretly negotiating with Liverpool?

They’ve gotta be nuts! Dude was a rockstar player and is a rockstar manager who is probably about to land them back to back CLs.

It was more him thinking they were cunts. They’d tie him down forever if they could

Enrique: Would he be able to handle PL schedules though? He was able to rest his main players in Ligue Un every single week with no detrimental effect, as most other teams just rolled over and let PSG tickled their bellies. He won’t be able to do that in PL.

I cannot see Enrique going us, its fawning to think such in these circumstances, and the likely reason of the delay ext with PSG is the season is not yet over. It will be after CL final. Then we can put this to bed.

The guy has endured losing his baby girl to cancer. After that, as a parent bar none the worst thing that could ever happen, nothing would faze him. Really hit me hard that one, got three young ladies of my own.

Felipe Luis is even less proven. No thanks.

Yep, wishful thinking or a pipe dream. Then again, I thought the same about Klopp before he signed.

There was a somewhat heated discussion he was involved in and he then appeared to misinterpret someone’s comment, thinking that he was being called a pedo, and so said he was leaving and wouldn’t be back.

I don’t see why he would want to come here, in terms of club financial clout it would be a downgrade, it would also be harder to attract players to Liverpool compared to…well…bloody Paris!!

Well if Enrique isn’t signing a new deal it looks like we’ll be fighting City for his services…

Wonder if Xabi is regretting not waiting a couple more days :joy:

People in the industry probably knew this anyway in last days or weeks.

The people reporting it are pretty certain Maresca is next, which was heavily hinted before his exit from Chelsea that he was already talking to them about it

Yeah looks like Maresca is all lined up according to Ornstein.

Having listened to my Leicester supporting neighbour moan about how dull and boring the football was when he was there I dare say the City fans are in for a change of pace.
