Yeah he should have scored with his early chance and there is no hiding from that, but he is one of the few pieces of this group that is showing quality. Its just suffering a lack of tangible production from being part of a confused and disjointed whole. To a degree I get if people want to criticize even that because at that sort of record fee you are supposed to be the guy who makes it work rather it needing to be working before you can show your quality. On some level I get that, but I am also completely at ease that he is not the problem
Good if you cost 30 mil and you aren’t expecting much.
After that what exactly did he do what made you say wow miss a glorious chance from 12 yards out.
This team would make Haarland look like the CF for the Dog&Duck.

See @Limiescouse’s point above.
You know who knows their shit when it comes to football? Jurgen Klopp. He reckons that Wirtz is fucking boss, and he’ll show everyone how good he is.
Showing what quality exactly I know people want him to do well but lets not over exagerate what hes done. Dom who everyone was dropping for fim and after playing 50% of his time at right back has better stats.
And his best performance was running the show in a 5-1 win with Salah on the bench.
Against a team which concedes goals more than us from his own country.
Klopp liked many a player he liked Nunez how did that go. He may come good but there is a chance he won’t for the money paid he should offer more.

That’s a question I genuinely don’t know how to respond to as his quality is so self-evident to me that if someone is asking the question it feels like a we’re talking different languages. I get people want him to move the score board and will deman more until he does that - fair. I get people want him to do meaningful stuff more consistently and in the dangerous areas more often, and stop losing the ball - also totally fair. But it seems so already demonstrated that it is not an issue of his quality (or application or any other criticism we might direct at him inidividually) that is limiting his scoring assisting/contributions so far.
My question is we are only one more poor team performance away from being in our rights to demand the power point presentation Slot shared with him about his role in this team because I am not seeing the plan at all
He may come good but there is a chance he won’t for the money paid he should offer more.
Wirtz is at the start of a long journey here. I can see his quality, even is it hasn’t clicked for him yet, for myriad reasons. I fully expect that he will become the main fulcrum of the new side that is starting to emerge.
If value for money is your thing, are we getting £400k+ worth from Mo each week? He had us over a barrel with the contract I suppose, but at this stage, we are not getting value from him.
Im growing tired of his reference to things being this way when you make a lot of changes. We had 2 forced on us and 1 (Darwin) that really was the only fair options for all parties. That is not that much. Everything else, the bits that now we’re saying were destabilizing, were choices we chose to make. And again, we made those choices when we were starting with an already successful side of a good age so its not like we needed to blow it up to get younger because we kept the players who were providing that risk
I think there is a world of difference between something that is obviously true as a matter of fact, and looking to use it as an excuse.
I don’t think Slot has ever suggested that the changes were forced on the club or that it’s a hard luck story that we had to change so much.
I’ve never said he doesn’t have any qualities. My biggest issue is the people over hyping what hes done so far running the game against a team which has conceded 10 goals in 2 Champions league games.

Every elite club in football wanted Florian Wirtz. It was a massive, massive coup that we got him.
Thats a strawman if there ever was one. Salah 4 goals 3 assists.
Wirtz one assist and hes not on peanuts.
Im not doubting it and that has nothing to do with this argument other than deflection.
We are discussing the now.
When the team has been struggling, it’s natural to look for positive signs, and Wirtz had a good game midweek, pulling the strings behind a pair of strikers, and two men out wide.
After that positive indication we changed it back and witnessed another defeat.
Fair enough, I don’t want to talk Salah down. He is past peak and I think we are in a transition with him now, but he has been brilliant for us and will still do good things for us.
As for Wirtz, I don’t like seeing good reds not giving him the benefit of the doubt. He is a good ‘un and the emerging team will be built around him long after Salah has departed.
From the very beginning and before the Bournemouth game, I thought we would have a slow start. The first four games appeared to disprove that until now…
We have to hope that we don’t fall too far off the top before we find our game.
Playing long balls at LFC is not a new thing. We haven’t found that dominant control yet.
I’m quite confident we will..
Unlike many, I truly believe that this PL season will not fully emerge until spring.
Slot has to stay with it and work through it. I don’t see any other way…
I just wished we had got Guehi as I think a solution to our defensive issues is 3 at the back 3 in midfield, wingbacks and 2 up top
I don’t think Slot has ever suggested that the changes were forced on the club or that it’s a hard luck story that we had to change so much.
I know. That is my point and why I’m growing so tired of it
