Arne Slot - Head Coach

And his best performance was running the show in a 5-1 win with Salah on the bench.

Against a team which concedes goals more than us from his own country.

Klopp liked many a player he liked Nunez how did that go. He may come good but there is a chance he won’t for the money paid he should offer more.

That’s a question I genuinely don’t know how to respond to as his quality is so self-evident to me that if someone is asking the question it feels like a we’re talking different languages. I get people want him to move the score board and will deman more until he does that - fair. I get people want him to do meaningful stuff more consistently and in the dangerous areas more often, and stop losing the ball - also totally fair. But it seems so already demonstrated that it is not an issue of his quality (or application or any other criticism we might direct at him inidividually) that is limiting his scoring assisting/contributions so far.

My question is we are only one more poor team performance away from being in our rights to demand the power point presentation Slot shared with him about his role in this team because I am not seeing the plan at all

Wirtz is at the start of a long journey here. I can see his quality, even is it hasn’t clicked for him yet, for myriad reasons. I fully expect that he will become the main fulcrum of the new side that is starting to emerge.

If value for money is your thing, are we getting £400k+ worth from Mo each week? He had us over a barrel with the contract I suppose, but at this stage, we are not getting value from him.

I think there is a world of difference between something that is obviously true as a matter of fact, and looking to use it as an excuse.

I don’t think Slot has ever suggested that the changes were forced on the club or that it’s a hard luck story that we had to change so much.

I’ve never said he doesn’t have any qualities. My biggest issue is the people over hyping what hes done so far running the game against a team which has conceded 10 goals in 2 Champions league games.

Every elite club in football wanted Florian Wirtz. It was a massive, massive coup that we got him.

Thats a strawman if there ever was one. Salah 4 goals 3 assists.

Wirtz one assist and hes not on peanuts.

Im not doubting it and that has nothing to do with this argument other than deflection.

We are discussing the now.

When the team has been struggling, it’s natural to look for positive signs, and Wirtz had a good game midweek, pulling the strings behind a pair of strikers, and two men out wide.

After that positive indication we changed it back and witnessed another defeat.

Fair enough, I don’t want to talk Salah down. He is past peak and I think we are in a transition with him now, but he has been brilliant for us and will still do good things for us.

As for Wirtz, I don’t like seeing good reds not giving him the benefit of the doubt. He is a good ‘un and the emerging team will be built around him long after Salah has departed.

From the very beginning and before the Bournemouth game, I thought we would have a slow start. The first four games appeared to disprove that until now…

We have to hope that we don’t fall too far off the top before we find our game.

Playing long balls at LFC is not a new thing. We haven’t found that dominant control yet.
I’m quite confident we will..

Unlike many, I truly believe that this PL season will not fully emerge until spring.

Slot has to stay with it and work through it. I don’t see any other way…

I just wished we had got Guehi as I think a solution to our defensive issues is 3 at the back 3 in midfield, wingbacks and 2 up top

I know. That is my point and why I’m growing so tired of it

Based on the signings we made, that’s a good shout on what we may have been trying to do, even if we haven’t seen it yet.

I don’t entirely agree here. This is definitely a club that was facing a transition. Trent gone. Robbo, Virg, Salah getting up there in age. Diaz refusing to extend and being a wantaway. That, right there, comprises 5 members of your starting XI that are either leaving or are in the final stages of their tenures here. Then add in Nunez and Jota’s tragic passing, and that’s essentially 7 of your most featured players. And that doesn’t include players like Ibou, Macca, etc who have been linked with moves to Spain in the future.

The club didn’t have to make all of these signings this summer. They didn’t have to sell Diaz or Nunez. But I don’t think I can really blame the thought process there.

What I do agree with is that you cannot use this as an excuse for all of your flaws. You have to pull them together and make it work.

I think the issue here is it seems to get worse. Like that’s the worst bar the Palace game I’ve seen us play, came off what looked like uptick.

Maybe he is copying that Klopp period in 20-21 thankfully we don’t lose after the next game

He is a shit manager, I want him gone this week. Packing in last season with 4 or 5 games left & swanning off to Ibiza set the tone for all this.
There’s no pattern to the play & the players look like they can’t be arsed because their manager would rather be on the decks at a super club in Ibiza with Wayne F*cking Lineker.

I agree. Slot and all his staff need to go now. We can’t wait until we drop out of the top half of the table for the club to take action, it will be too late. As it is, majority of the players look demotivated and looks like Slot doesn’t have it in him to change anything.

Liverpool’s next 4 games…
Crystal Palace - Carabao
Aston Villa - PL
Real Madrid - CL
Man City - PL

We need someone to come in and steady this ship, motivate the team and get some sort of formation/tactics working.
