Arne Slot - Head Coach

Yeah, same here. It’s admittedly a small sample but I’ve never seen him play in a narrow role. I really, really don’t like it when he does it at Liverpool. That said, I wasn’t the biggest fan of Trent doing it either.

From what I remember, he was used more or less as a classic full back at Bournemouth. Not too deep, not too high, but certainly used wider than in the games we’ve used him as the 3rd CB in build up (a role in which I didn’t like so far).

For Hungary, he used to play as a LWB in a back 3, but in their last 4 games, they’ve switched to 4 at the back. On paper. In average positions, I see their RB stood back more, which allowed Kerkez to push up more.

One can miss many differnt details when you don’t watch a team as regularly as Liverpool. Maybe there were some instances in some phases of the game when Kerkez did something different when Bournemouth had Adam Smith (in his early to mid 30’s) at RB.

It’s more his his attributes, qualities and potential where I wonder. Because not everything in ex-club vs new club relation needs to be perfectly aligned. It’s impossible, anyway. He was apparently our first choice and then our alternative was Hato. Two different players.

So can we note Arne explicitly saying he sees Hugo being able to play on the left.

Yes.

We’ll see how it looks when (or if) we try it regularly.

Klopp saw the potential with Gakpo centrally as some sort of a false #9, there are many successful and unsuccessful attempts at changing or adding a new position to a player.

Watched this yesterday, thought Hargreaves was useless and thought the suppose tactical overview was lacking detail due to Hargreaves phrasing of not diggi g deeper.

Crisis over?
Maybe we should ask PL and UEFA if we can play all our games at Anfield.

I don’t have an opinion on whether he can do it but I am calling it out to hopefully draw a line under this blind spot you have about this being Slot’s opinion

The power of Anfield saved Arnes job for now.

Remember we are in a rebuilding process with some young players and we can also use the mourning process as an excuse if needed.

Fully expect us to drop points against Forest after the break even though it’s at Anfield. Why? Because Arne is still without a win against them and I don’t think he is able to improve/learn.

Stop with bollocks about rebuilding please.

We all have our own thoughts on Arne…wether they’re right or wether they are wrong…eveyone is entitled to there opinion…best way is to back him…but he might have his own thoughts on this.

He also faced a Nuno Forest.

Looking very amatureish this season.
In his first season he wins title with Mr Klopp’s players which was a bit of a shock. But the bigger shock is how crap he is this season in almost every game.

8 winnable games in the PL between now and New Year.

Even in the situation we’ve allowed ourselves to be drawn into, where we are being shafted by the same small group of fucking cheats every week, I’d expect a minimum of 19 points.
Anything less and he’s toast.

And why exactly?

Maybe we are in a rebuilding process but if you sign 5 expensive players then maybe more than one (Hugo) of them should ‘look alright’ after 18 games.

If you sign two +£100m players you should be able to make at least one of them perform after 18 games.

Has Slot improved any players besides Gravenberch? Will he be able to improve Bradley? What happened to Gakpo or World Cup winner MacAllister?

I want to hear some positives. What makes people believe he is the right man to ‘rebuild’ this team? Is he a tactical genius or a motivation magician?

Another thing.
Zero draws (not even in preseason) since the end of last season. It’s either win or lose. Worrying sign of immaturity.

A draw today and two more from the other 4 we lost and we’d be sitting 2nd in the league.

Yeah, I noticed that after Madrid the other night. I think it’s something like 35 games in Europe since we drew, which is nuts. Goes back to when Klopp was here of course.
