Arne Slot - Head Coach

Didn’t focus on how Wirtz played when they didn’t have the ball

Yeah like Wirtz but you seem to have a 1001 excuses for how shite hes been.

Chloe from Redmen TV in her video has alluded to the fan base at Anfield is becoming split now on Slot.

To end his career with something more prestigious than a League Cup medal?

When was the last time a team he had was successful, doesn’t last 2 minutes at a club.

Wouldn’t want him nowhere near our club

Hugo plays well for what Slot wants from his striker. Taking him out tonight for a player lacking in fitness all together let alone a player who’s been injured the last 2 to 3 games was insane.

The strikers role, it’s kind of like a false 9 but the end phase is more ending with him rather than the wide forwards like we had with Klopp.

There were moments where Isak came deep but had no idea how to find space to recieve the ball at the end of the move. It looks painfully like a team not knowing how to play to the tactics asked of them.

We are so missing players/leaders like Hendo and Milly, wouldn’t let standards or chins drop. Add to them the likes of Mo, Virg and Robbo and we had the mentality, need to somehow get that back.

Need to up the anti in training and even more so on the pitch.

Need to get back to basics, be strong defensively and win the right to play.

Match stats Forest covered 110km we covered 104km, I know you supposedly run less when in possession, but why?
Surely you still have to make runs for passes.

I don’t want us to be like Chelsea or Man U and change managers willy nilly, but Arne has to fitst and foremost put some fire and fight back in the players.

Klopp after winning the league:

Slot after winning the league:

Everyone losing their shit is beyond ridiculous. We were never calling for Klopp’s sacking. So I genuinely find it sad that there is even genuine discussion of Slot’s sacking after the heavy reinvestment in the team and the inevitable post league winning dip that is common in this league.

I am well aware that Klopp and team eventually dug out of that rut. And we dont look to have hit bottom yet, but its still a glance at how bad our post-PL winning season under Klopp was.

If we went further back with that 20/21 season, it was 3 wins in 13 PL games:

Thanks for putting things into context.

I do feel we are more worried as Arne has never really been in this position.

Klopp was top at Christmas in the season after he won the league, before all the injuries hit. He could have managed that period better but there were obvious mitigating circumstances. We were playing much better football that season than we are this.

At that point in his career there was a wealth of evidence as to Klopp’s managerial ability. Far, far more than Slot has going for him currently.

People had more faith in Klopp because he was doing better than Slot is and he was more successful. It’s not ridiculous or unfair.

Clearly you didn’t watch that season. Much much worse that season. This season, you can go into a match believing if we get the first goal, we just might possibly win.

In 20/21, you could chalk down a loss before kickoff and you’d be pretty much bang on.

Who gives a fuck what position we were at Christmas? Are we Everton now?

There aren’t mitigating circumstances this season? Over a dozen list changes? A death of one of our players? Ibra playing for RM in his head already? (Yep obvs Slot should own that one)

We didn’t progressively get worse we just hit a rock bottom mostly due to the fact we were playing CM at CB and messing around players systems. Due to injury.

Oddly once we ended up with two CB at CB our form picked up.

Maybe there is an idea in that, you have Ramsay play him. Like he’s going be no worse than Williams and Phillips and just maybe Szobozlai gets you a pass to get you ahead.

This is becoming my major gripe, I don’t get Hugo for Konate. Gomez for Konate, Hugo for Gakpo or Isak. Play players where they should be playing. Stick a CM on if you must push Grav back, we’ve got Trey or Endo I know again they are not the best but play players in positions.

In 20/21 we were getting more points per game, scoring more goals, and conceding fewer.

Other than that, everything was much much worse. Spot on analysis.

I had been hoping Slot would turn this around by now, but he does seem to be struggling for ideas. The one constant seems to be that if you are on the outer as a player you might as well go to the pub!
He has had the options to try something new, but then repeats similar failed options, it seems.
Had high hopes after last season, but with the changes we have rarely looked getting back to last years form, which was of course, largely Klopp’s team.As it would be.
No idea who carries the most weight in looking at players brought in, it might be enlightening but we are not going to know that.
Of course, at the end of the day FSG is going to call the shots, but don’t FFS do a Rodgers again!

Hard to compare different seasons, for me the overall standard of the teams has gone up the last few seasons

That’s a pretty dishonest take. Using points per game over a full season vs a season that’s 12 games in where we’ve started poorly (but in one we’ll likely recover).

Let’s play the dishonest stat game, but here’s a statistic that’s still a fucktonne more honest than yours:

Worst block of 12 games:

20/21- 4th Jan - 7th Mar: W=3, D=1, L=8, PPG=0.8, F=10, A=16, GD=-6
25/26: W=6, D=0, L=6, PPG=1.5, F=18, A=20, GD=-2

A slow motion kind of kitchen sink, though. It’s hardly harem scarem. Except when we end up defending, that is.

Imo one of our biggest problems is probably that Slot doesn’t know how to use his squad properly. He has 11 to 14 favorites, and he either doesn’t trust the rest, is resting them for emergencies, or they’re not match-fit, or a combination of all of these. As a result, players have to play in positions they weren’t intended for, and then they’re obviously missing from their regular positions, etc. We’re going in circles: overworked players get injured more easily, unused players aren’t match-fit and therefore aren’t used, etc. And then it starts all over again. And the depressing thing for me is that I don’t see any way out of this spiral right now. And unfortunately, there is no sign of a stable system in which all of this would work because many of his “sacred favorites” don’t even bring the basics to the pitch, or even have the freedom to simply ignore them. They know by now that they’ll always be playing anyway.

this is going nowhere.

lets just assume you can cherry pick a run of games that suits your fancy, and assume in someway Arne is on a level with Jurgen in the credit department, and ignore every other metric that puts Klopp ahead of Slot…

then what?..

its still unacceptable. the football isnt even the worst thing, its the effort, its the playing the same record over and over again and expecting a different tune…

i said a bit further up, i think the biggest issue (others like limie have mentioned this aswell) isnt whether we dig ourselves out of this, its how long its taken, if shit goes pear again next season, then thats a write off too, because hes needing months to sort things out, not weeks…

ignore the comparrisons to Jurgen, deal in the present, what is Slot giving us to cling onto at the moment…

whisper it as i know its sacrosanct, but we were shite well before we secured the title last season… its almost been a year now where we are a litte bit hard to watch…

gonna go there one more time too…going to Ibiza, getting pissed up on stage…not a great look now.

Comparing this season to 20/21 is odd. We aren’t playing in empty stadiums in the middle of a global pandemic. We aren’t running out Rhys Williams and Ozan Kabak at CB. There is no comparison.
