Arne Slot - Head Coach

It’s the 15 points after 5 games where we were (5?) clear of all comers. Out record since really has been poor enough to justify the concern, especially as we haven’t looked convincing going right back to the charity shield.

nah, its been bad.

results wise bad, but also to the point where you couldnt even see what we were trying to do, which is worse.

little light at the end of the tunnel, but yeah, whats behind us (hopefully) now cant be forgotten in the end of season review.

At this point, I’m of the opinion that none of our forwards is suited to 4-3-3 or 4-5-1, systems they’ve been playing for ages!

Joking aside, while Gakpo’s form has taken a dip alongside that of almost every teammate of his, we’re still conceding too many chances at the other end. The difference between Sunderland/Leeds and Brighton matches is that the former took their chances - that Gomez lad from Brighton was probably kicking himself after the game.

One mitigating circumstance is that Slot isn’t able to field the same XI these days (even if he wanted to). Gomez is injured again, Isak had been injured prior to Brighton match, now Szoboszlai is a worry after his ankle injury, too.

After today’s performance there is no doubt in my mind that Arne Slot is not the right coach for LFC. The tactics was so cowered even after going one man up.

Congratulations for surviving the sack. Individual moment, luck and red cards bailed him out. He now also has the excuse of many injuries and players missing.

Has he improved any players? Can anyone see some kind of tactical identity?

I don’t even know what the tactics were but we looked clueless that last 15 mins and that does not speak well to the quality of the coaching

yeah i commented a while ago that to survive he needs to get the team playing cohesively and to a plan…not rely on individual players talents…id rather get fifth and see a patern of play emerge that is sustainable and consistent than get 4th becuase Isak and Wirtz et al is good at footy…

in old fashion lingo, we need to see the team being better than the sum of its parts

definately not there at the moment

You can see the clear framework of a tactical plan emerging if you’re not blind..

If anything, this win should count against him. That was a mess of a performance that ended with 3 points because the other side was Spurs being Spurs.

Any serious team would have walked all over us.

Unfortunately a lot of lads made up their minds weeks ago, and in a few cases the moment he was appointed. There is absolutely nothing Slot can do to win them back round.

ill ignore the last few words, as it doesnt help the debate, but yes, i suppose you are correct, i can see a framework when we have the ball, and its horrendous, ponderous, lacks any movement and is easily disrupted.

without the ball i struggle to see it to be honest, there was one moment in the first half before the send off when all the midfielders were gesticulating to each other about what i percieve to be a complete misunderstanding about who should go and when.

never bothered me, a bit of inhouse argueing, but this one did, it was genuine confusion as to who should be doing what and where.

I think IF we lose against Wolves or one of the other two (Leeds or Fulham), Slot will be under pressure again. They are all near the bottom half of the table and near relegation.

We should be looking at nine points there, but yet again we are licking our wounds.

Isak off with an injury that I really would be surprised if it turns out to be an ACL. Bradley looks to have been forced off by another injury, and Wirtz looked to have pulled his hamstring late on.

We can only have a genuine debate when all participants have the ability of seeing and understanding.

For every example of confusion in the NP phase, there are multiple of opponents in the last six games forced to recycle the ball because of the Liverpool defensive shape…

In the attacking phase we can definitely do better, but we’re still creating chances.

My problem is with folks who exaggerate and dumb down the discussion because they lack the mental capacity to understand where we are at and the process of getting through it.

Omg! Me ma always said bad luck comes in threes.
However, we should have enough firepower and quality players to get passed these three teams. We should get 9 points. Let’s hope so. We have a week to prepare which is good.

unfortunately if you want ‘all participants’ to engage in a certain dignified manner, the internet is not the place to be.

we need to sift through the chaff, to get the wheat …so to say.

I agree tbh. The problem is our mental (and physical) fragility, which the manager also has a part to play in

It hasn’t actually been around a lot longer than
Slot mind.

Mentality monsters wasn’t a constant.

It was a theme though
