Football is dire, players don’t look confident, fans too.
His personality just doesn’t seemed aligned with the club. With the wealth of talent at his disposal and the talented youngsters in the squad this should be a cracking time to support/play for Liverpool.
Our form over the last 20 games would have us as a bottom half team. We are only in the top 6 due to our excellent (and largely lucky) early season form.
We have the players to turn it around and get top 4 but there is precious little evidence that it is about to happen. 6 league wins from our last 20 games, crazy.
If anyone thinks the season is over, then they shouldn’t fucking watch. I’m sick of posters declaring that we won’t win this or that. What are we even in this for?
Christ, I’ve not give up on the champions League. While we’re in it, there is hope.
Never said the season is over, I’ve been pretty clear previously that winning titles isn’t the only thing I enjoy about the game, I said there is little evidence to suggest we are about to turn this around. We won our first 5 games. Since then we’ve gone 6 wins, 6 draws and 8 losses. Our form is heading away from the top 4 not towards it.
It would be nice if we are not winning games then at least we see some young players developing, or some long term tactical foundations being built, or some exciting attacking football on display. There’s nothing.
Frankly the scraps we can take from this season is that the players have shown in isolated moments that they are quality players. Kerkez, Wirtz and Ekitike have all shown enough to suggest they’ll be long term starters here but it’s just individual moments. That is all that is carrying our season.
That puff piece was one of the worst things they could have done because they’re now damned if they do and damned if they don’t. Absolute folly and will require a major climb down with the resultant questioning of the caliber of their tenure.
Yeah, if anything, that piece makes me having even more doubts about the people currently leading the club. It’s certainly not reassuring in any way, shape or form.
While I’ve been in the Slot out camp for a few months now and agree that we look like a badly coached team, I think today’s loss was very undeserved.
Yes, they played a bit better in the first half, but didn’t have good chances, the one in the first minute was probably their best. Then we totally dominated them until we scored and had a few very good chances and several promising positions.
We were denied a clear penalty when Silva pulled Salah. Then a red card for Guehi. And then the most embarrassing - the penalty for their winner - the ball was already out of play when the contact happened.
We have a lot of apparent problems, but today deserved at least a draw. This game was very reminiscent to the Arsenal one, the difference is today we scored and then shat the bed. And we had the same plan as we had in the last couple of months - start with the aim of not conceding and hopefully grow in the game, we played the same even in games like home to Sunderland etc. At this point, with this game plan and with all our problems, this was a good game with a bad result.
