I don’t think he stays even if he flukes the CL. I am hoping that management see what we are seeing.

This is a quote from Arne from TIA, yet my understanding was that it his philosophy and to supposedy make the opposition work harder, is to make shorter passes across them pitch to make the put more effort in.

Yes our forwards aren’t as good at pressing compared to last season, but it isn’t down to them pressing that is the issue, it is the lack of a consistent press throughout the team, the midfield just aren’t backing them up.
This results in an easy out ball into midfield or sometimes a opposition forward dropping into said midfield to pick the ball up.
Against Woves, Joao Gomez was left unmarked, many times, in the 6 position with no Liverpool midfielder within 10 yards of him, how is that the forwards fault.
This is a recurring issue with us.
To summise, we are setup to fail from the coaching side of our press as there isn’t a coherent plan from Arne.

It’s so bad I doubted myself.
Klopp’s final season had us top of the league in April and chasing four trophies. It fell apart at end with injuries (Becker, TAA,Jota,Jones etc) coupled with fatigue.
The narrative when Slot took over was clear. The squad is strong, The finances were strong. A quiet window was strategic (but still tried to sign players like Zubimendi).
The shift towards, major rebuild (ie squad not strong) and financial constraints of what he inherited is gaslighting.
Also worth noting that same summer the three promoted Premier League clubs spent around £270m combined.
So telling us Liverpool could only sign Chiesa because we played Europa League the season before, despite qualifying for the Champions League for the upcoming season is bollocks.
Especially for a club widely regarded as having some of the healthiest finances.

I’m sorry but he’s full of shit. Mo and Virgil wouldn’t have been given contracts if we were rebuilding or in transition. We bought who we did to consolidate our position as well.

The bottom line is that we need CL for our self sustaining model to work. That hasn’t changed since FSG took over.

Do you watch the games?
Because I have commented during games throughout the season, and so as many others that the forwards aren’t backed up when pressing.
I fit isn’t poor coaching then Arne should be lambasting the players for not carrying out instructions.
I have seen numerous games where our forwards work to close down for there to be an easy outlet pass with no pressure from the midfielders and at times no one near the player receiving the ball!
It’s not about the fact that we only have a certain amount of financial leeway; nobody disputes that, that’s not the point here.
The thing is that nobody’s waiting for anything; this nonsense just keeps pouring out of him. It’s become just as annoying as these constant, pathetic attempts to defend it.

Absolutely but can’t you see the arse about face logic ?
The actual club response to missing out on a CL spot, was going out and buying a whole new midfield. We signed Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Gravenberch and Endo for around £150m. Who Klopp got working well together.
He inherited a squad who two months before his arrival were going for the quadruple. Whose financial projections based on CL football secured.
The club finishing in a Europa league spot a full year before taking over has had zero impact on Slot being able to do his job. Bringing it up as he has done now several times is such a weak excuse and it should be called out.
