No, and that’s certainly one of the problems. He’s never lost more than two games before. He has absolutely no experience with situations like this, and in my opinion, he’s suffering from complete overconfidence if he still believes he can simply undo all this mess and turn it around again. Now he might have to learn the hard way. And he’s not alone, either. He has a whole team to support him.I have no idea what they’re thinking or how that’s even supposed to work.

Absolutely hate to say this… but even Gerard is probably a better manager than what Slot is at this moment in time…!
Yet boy oh boy, even with the faults I could see Gerard bringing to this club long term, it is saying something to rate him higher than present day Slot…!

Lots of talk in the game threads about a seeming lack of effort and heart from the players, and slot’s inability to motivate them like Klopp did. But I think more fundamentally we’re seeing the effects of players who have lost faith in what they’re being asked to do.
Football today is far too competitive for it to be enough for players of even this quality to just roll up their sleeves and take it upon themselves to perform. When the limitations of the game plan inevitably runs up against reality you get the resurgence of the hesitancy and lack of confidence that has beset us all season.

I’ve tried… I really have… tried to be patient and understanding… knowing what he did only last year… but I just can’t ignore the evidence of my own eyes any further. There’s been no sense of upturn, just a few sporadic decent performances scattered within this steaming heap of excrement. These guys were, I repeat ‘were’ champions, but now…? What is this? Where’s the spirit? The fire? The fight? Who are these imposters?
