Has there been anything said about why Arteta made the sub at half time with Nwaneri?
Super Odegaard 9 touches in 30 minutes.
AFTV mentioned Martinelli was better helping the right back not sure if thats the reason or them just guessing.
This comment nails what they’ve been doing all season. Will never win the league playing this type of football. The Mourinho days are long gone
Arteta: “We play every 3 days.”
This is the thing with Arsenal and Chelsea.
Chelsea have a tougher schedule team wise but also don’t have League Cup or CL.
Arsenal is a bit easier but they have the CL and League cup and may well still have to play an extra playoff.
It’s unlikely we will.
Arteta saying not a pen, “never seen that before”
Maybe cause other defenders don’t headbutt attackers
Arsenal’s next two league games are both at home, against Villa and Spurs. Although neither is playing at their best at the moment, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Gunners drop points in at least one game.
So basically Villa
Yeah only way Spurs get anything is probably sacking Ange and some injuries returning.
Bit harsh, mate.
Ange getting the old sack is coming possibly midweek.
They actually got more than they deserved from that game , Brighton had by far the better chances. I honestly can’t remember anything clean cut for them in the second half. They seemed to be relying on set pieces to get them out of jail , and , oh the irony , they were shit at them all game.
Brighton hardly attacked in the first half and offered them more threat going forward than they had in the second half. I dont doubt the reason because that sort of arseyness is what we have come to expect from Mikel, but it didnt help them.
I am inclined to give them some mitigation this season because they have been struggling physically, but this is consistent with a level of cautiousness that has come into their game since the start of last season. It feels a bit like they learned the wrong lesson from coming up short in 22-23. Rather than using it to say a young inexperienced side will be stronger in their next title challenge for the experience, they seemed to treat it as a lesson that every time things get tough they need to go into their shell and protect their position. It astounds me that Arteta seems to think that draw against City at the end of last season validated this attitude rather than showed the limitation of it.
Yeah, but the injuries and the penalty was a disgrace. For that alone they deserve the 3 points.
Interview I just heard from Arteta said it was a muscular issue
Real should also go for Saka while they are at it. Don’t think they have that quality and depth in that area.
What? The treatment room?
The amount of fume from Arsenal fans across social media saying its not a penalty is amazing.
Having just seen the penalty, the only complaint Arsenal can have is that you don’t often see them given.
However, an attempt to play the ball with your foot that misses and connects with the player would be a clear pen. I don’t see why it should be different with your head.
