Blud, it's the Arsenal thread, fam

No CL football for 6 years and yet they still spent some crazy fees.

They primarily try to play with Pep’s inverted FB when in possession and that doesnt really accommodate 2 new expensive DMs. So beyond your interpretation being the most understandable way to read these stories, it’s difficult to see how they fit both of these guys in without change the way they play. Possible, but doesn’t seem likely

Yup probably a Plan A and Plan B as you say.

They do spend a lot but then if you look it’s often spread over 5-6 players.

Have the cash to buy one but not both

West Ham rejecting that kind of money for a player in his last year? What are they smoking over there, really hope Arsenal walk away from the deal and don’t 1 up West Ham’s stupidity so that they lose him for nothing.

80m gets you virtually any midfielder in the world not named Jude.

£80,000,001.
Did Moysie ask "What do you think they 're smoking over there at the Emirates? :grinning:

Apparently there is an extra year (option).

There’s one extra year. Rice is going for 95+

Not sure why WHU shouldn’t drive a hard bargain. That goes for any club.

Fwiw. I do think City will swoop over at the end to get Rice.

Not because they need him , it’s on getting one over on their closest rivals.

And putting that 2-bit lego hair Bumteta* in his place.

* as named so by their own fans a season prior

Glad we’re not in the bidding war for Declan Rice.

Took me some time to rate him but anything more than £60m is a car crash waiting to happen.

Rice is a quality pick for Arsenal. Fits their system seamlessly, quality upgrade, leadership.

No brainer for them to be spending a small fortune on him.

Small fortune.

£90m bid rejected.

If Rice would be French playing in Spain for Sevilla he would be nothing worth more than £55m.

Okay

They want Havertz, Zaha and Rice.

‚We’re not winning any trophies but you can stay in London and earn more money’

Is that their transfer strategy?

Is Zaha another one that was going to Saudi and hasn’t.

Why would they need Zaha, makes no sense.

Yeah, apparently rejected the move/prioritizing a move to Europe. 1 week I’m reading he’s going to Saudi, the next PSG, the next Fenerbache, and now somewhat bizarrely…Arsenal. They have Martinelli and just signed Trossard.

Would rather he left the Prem altogether…could do without good left wingers exposing us. :face_exhaling:

They are making a move for Timmer too.
