Breaking News Thread (Part 1)

How shocked am I at this news…

This is scary.

I rode 60km on my bike the other day. It was a relaxed pace. That was 3hrs.

That athlete has just run 42km at essentially the same pace.

I’d like to dive into those accounts a bit deeper. How is the refining side going for example. I think that side is under pressure at the moment due to the wild fluctuations between market and physical price.

Another attempted arson in London. This time a memorial wall in Golders Green for Iranian protesters killed by the regime:

It definitely looks like someone is deliberately shit stirring.

More violence in Golders Green, and more serious this time as two people have been stabbed.

Police have arrested (presumably) the perpetrator. I’ve no idea whether this could be related to the arson incidents, or as a result of them.

Iran has officially asked British Muslims to rise up. Logic dictates that a few will act on it (and we have seen some of it).

That having been said, that’s not certain, only likely. It could also be secular sympathisers from the anarchic left, or less likely, someone else.

Interesting how the confirm that the culprit was known to police with a history of violence and mental health issues and the press are doubling down on it being a terrorist incident.

So are they saying the mental health is now a terror offence?

Could lock up two-thirds of the shadow cabinet and rendition them to Wokestan on that basis…

Interestingly, they always seem to downgrade violent incidents in Germany based on a mental health diagnosis.

This could be true, but it is also noticeable that the perpetrators often have an online history of interacting with inflammatory content, whether this is Islamist, AfD, or Russian/MAGA conspiracy theory stuff.

Commissioning and carrying out acts of terrorism (violent hate crimes against innocent people) are complex and time consuming. It’s far easier to incite others and allow the weak minded to do the dirty work.

I’m sure it was pure co-incidence he stabbed Jewish people in an area with a large Jewish population.

You have to feel sorry for these oil companies in these uncertain times.

They, along the arms merchants, are the true profiteers from these wars (and possibly their instigators as well).

The World Health Organisation on ‌Sunday declared an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda a “public health emergency of international concern”.

The WHO said the outbreak, caused by the Bundibugyo virus, does not meet the criteria of a pandemic emergency.
