Maybe I’m wrong, but I think most of our defensive headers tend to be back to the middle? If so that’s probably a tactical instruction more than anything else. Despite the penchant of so many for shots from distance, they simply tend to be far less successful…
Nunez early second half please.
Another player that has been struggling to play for his team that we resurrect…the goals we concede are diabolical…thank God we were ahead so it’s back to square one.
Btw I doubt Brighton would have been able to circulate the ball so well vs prime Mane Salah Firmino…
Just get the boys that are not destroyed from playing high octane the quadruple run season, to press the crap out of them…Gakpo, Hervey, Keita, Nunez when he comes in…I know they are not the same, but the lack of successful pressing is alarming.
Gakpo making a good fist of it…according to the itv commentator.
Just not seeing that myself at the moment. He looks a bit lost.
Certainly got better but need some pace on the left… all very slow…
Keita has been very good.
Entertaining first half Elliott could have had two goals, I thought Konate and Gomez been brilliant.
Yep, straight back into the danger area
Much better. Lucky deflection but Keita had a handball. Elliot’s been our best player. Best showing from Gakpo thus far.
Want to see Darwin!
Plenty of energy but giving the ball away too easily time after time.
Cody on the left. Mo in the centre. Harvey on the right. Is what I’ll do
Charles please. I want to see us evolve into a decent team
Don’t mean to go Dutch here, but I’m not seeing it, yet
That’s happened in other games as well. While the opposition (like Conner Callagher last week) can keep on doing it.
Thigh to arm is not a deliberate hand ball.
We played really well, and we’re worth more than a single goal. Unlucky to concede the goal of a mad deflection.
The team is looking better. Work in progress. I’m looking forward to seeing the new liverpool.
The conceded goal was a bit of a pisser. The deflection got it for them.
HT 1-1:
A good half between two good sides imo. Brighton have displayed a similar level of form than last time we met them. We on the other side are now on par in terms of physicality, defensive strength, and penetration into their box.
The result so far is thus logical. Hopefully our lads can maintain this level, or even improve a notch or two by bringing in Nunez for instance, at some point in the game, and then we’ll see what happens.
But I see progress so far, and that’s the most important thing in my book. The central defense looks far better settled now, our midfield is functional, and we create chances. Fingers crossed that a lot more chances for us will follow during the second half, and that one or two will be converted!
Infinitely better than the first half last time we played them
He’s running at the defense and has supplied a few good balls.
He’s still off the pace. He’s still learning how we play. It’s going to take a bit of time. But he’s improving.
