If we’re just philosophizing rather than dealing with the actual matter at hand, I would counter that it is a problem that such a large group of people are so quick to calibrate themselves to the middle point of any discussion with no attempt made to evaluate the merits of the argument. Ignoring my personal distaste with the smugness so many people have in doing this, thinking that is morally superior to people who actually know stuff and use that to position themselves closer to one of the respective arguments, this reflex is something the enables bad faith actors to pervert discussions with terrible arguments designed only to move the middle of the debate.
There you go. You then said that both are possible. All I’ve done is disagreed with your claim on some mysterious middle ground. They either did or didn’t contribute. They didnt.
So its not jumping in and making assumptions. It’s correcting your BS.
Fuck me, you’ve claimed there’s middle ground on something when there isnt. You also claimed that I have jumped to one extreme because it fits some strange opinion i have formed in a pretty underhand comment.
Thats a lot of claims for someone not claiming anything. Do you work in insurance?
Hurricanes hitting the US are starting to enter the same ‘thoughts and prayers’ category as school shootings. The causal link seems pretty clear, but the policy to do nothing to improve the situation remains entrenched.
