Just a suggestionā¦could we have a covid game cancellation, for a few gamesā¦more time for the sickies to recover, less games in Decemberā¦just a thoughtā¦it makes me wonder if āotherā teams havenāt tried it.
I dont know what the standards are for authorizing that.
If you go back 20 years Boro got relegated over a dispute about getting a game postponed during flu season. They had their entire team down with it and requested a postponement and were told no. They fought it and decided to just not show up. I think they thought they would just get given a 0-3 loss and move on, but they were also given an additional 3 point penalty. Those penalty points were enough to keep them in the bottom in three, so had they have just shown up with an U18 side and taken a pounding, as we did against Villa last year in the cup, they would have stayed up.
