As long as Jones is happy to be a squad player and contribute where needed, I don’t think we’ll sell him at all. Remember Man Utd under Ferguson having the likes of Wes Brown and John O’Shea, who’d drop in when required. I did think when Klopp left, it’d be between Elliott and Jones in terms of who leaves, and given the system we’re playing, and the positions both players occupy on the pitch, it looks like it’s Elliott.
Since the spring of 2023, I thought Jones bought himself a few more years at the club and without doubt got the advantage over Elliott. Now they’re different zones really, so we don’t have to always compare them. Jones has proved he can play deeper. Doesn’t mean he’ll be here forever, but I don’t see him going anywhere for now.
Ah yes, a squad fodder, a role that Jones is certainly good enough to fulfill.
It’s not unusual for Jones to be criticised…… oh wait… wrong Jones
Curtis:
"You don’t play 100-plus games for one of the best teams in the world if you don’t have belief in yourself, or trust in yourself. There’s a load of lads who can’t break through into teams like this. There’s been times when fans have said ‘he’s not good enough’, or ‘He needs a loan’, or ‘he needs to leave the club.’
“I’ve always overcome it and that’s why I’m here now. The biggest thing I tell a kid is always be yourself. Anybody telling you you’ve got to change and act a different way, that’s a load of c**p. I see myself as being a lad who wants to take risks. I want to be a lad who’s relied on by the team, the staff, the fans, and I want to be a huge star.”
For fucks sake Curtis. It’s ‘will you marry me, la’
Who is he asking? Wish people would do this more personally.
She seems to be very surprised. Is she a bit slow on the uptake, I wonder?
I get the sentiment but that has been a bit of a tightrope. Lets hope he continues balancing it well from Slot’s perspective!
