He was in the last year of his contract. Maybe there was PL interest, but the player wanted Milan.
Lots of supermodels in Milan
It is interesting that Chelsea does seem to have an Italian connection now with Tammy Abrahams already there too.
And, probably more pertinently in this instance, Fikayo Tomori is one of Milan’s best players.

I’d forgotten about him…didn’t bakayoko go there on loan too at some point?

Yeah, but that is unlikely to have fostered a good relationship that made Milan want to go back for more
Yeah sportswashing tends to get things done quicker and easier.
Chelsea‘s outgoings update:
Kai Havertz (£65M)
Mason Mount (£60m)
Mateo Kovacić (£25m)
Kalidou Koulibaly (£19.8m)
Edouard Mendy (£16m)
Ruben Loftus-Cheek (£15m)
Hakim Ziyech (£8m)
N’Golo Kanté (FREE)
Total: £208.8M
Kai Havertz (£65M)
Mason Mount (£60m)
Apparently the Ziyech deal is falling true, something to do with failing the medical I am reading overhere.
Skinny like Fabinho, they both need a sandwich before going to a medical.

It’ll be interesting to see what fee Caicedo goes for. Anyone think Brighton will get £100m?
I don’t think so. But it’ll still be high. And Chelsea now need midfielders, one or two for sure.

They have somewhat showed their hand by acknowledging he can go this summer. Ordinarily you would think that would put pressure on them to sell and affect the fee, but it’s Chelsea on the other side of the deal. So
Anyone think Brighton will get £100m?
It’s Chelsea we’re talking here, Brighton will probably end up with 200m.
Chelsea’s current midfield options: Fernandez, Gallager (could still leave), Chukwuemeka, Santos, Casadei.
Could see them signing at least 2 new midfielders, if not one more.
