Daft Prick Boehly‘s Blue Billion Pound Plastic Bottlejobs

So they don’t have to pay them, but surely that means writing off any transfer fee immediately?

Conspiracy theorist in me suggests the Club set him up to fail the test, excuse to sack him and they save plenty on the dud spend. Someone had to start the rumour!

They won’t be getting a mass amount for him and his contract has still 6 years to run.

I bet that would out do his fee.

As @ZinedineBiscan alluded to they did this to Mutu in the early days of the Roman era

Mudryk is a waste of a spot for Chelsea. If he can be fired, they can go again with another. We talk about the money as though it is a factor, and it probably is - but only slightly. Witness how much they have spent the past couple of years.*

They have a very good side now, and freeing up a spot for another will be a welcome opportunity for them, but I doubt they engineered it. Yes, shades of Mutu being let go coming up, I think.

  • I don’t think nearly enough has been said about how Chelsea have managed to spend so much money in this age of PSR. It looks dead wrong. It feels like they found 1.5 Billion down the back of the couch (left behind by Abramovich due to assets being frozen because of the invasion of Ukraine) and before Chelsea asked what they were supposed to do with it, they spent the lot, quickly, and handed out ridiculous contracts, and the authorities don’t have the bandwidth for another legal fight with a big club. It’s rotten.

As I think about it more, I think Chelsea were in debt to Abramovich to the tune of well over a billion, probably 1.5 billion. As the war was kicking off and assets were being frozen, he wanted to sell up. He acted like he was just going to walk away from the money, but he wanted that 1.5 Billion. Enter Boehly and chums. They put the money together, but it went into some sort of holding account and didn’t transfer to Abramovich, who of course since has other fish to fry. Then somehow it appears as though Chelsea just spent the LOT on ridiculous transfers and contracts, before a proper assessment could be made.

So, they benefitted from a corrupt owner loaning them well north of a billion on the never never to build themselves up to being a top Prem club. Then they repeated the trick, and spent well over a billion again, with the money laying around and not quite being claimed by Abramovich.

Is that how it went down? Double cheats?

Interesting thing about that is I believe that was set aside to fund Ukrainian rebuild.

Yes by all accounts the debt to Roman was wiped from club both in legal sense and in terms of how the repayments would impact FPF.

The counter was the embargo that was placed on the club blocked them renewing contracts to several players and saw them lose over a 100 million in asset value as those players left for free

Palmer’s goal today meant he broke a club record for number of premier league goals scored in a calendar year (26). For all the money Chelsea have spent over the years it’s surprising to think the guy whose record he broke predated Abramovic - Jimmy Floyd.

Should’ve stopped signing coke fiends and Ukrainian OAPs…

Well that’s one way to shut down a rumour.

Is that actually him? Would be hilarious if it is.

He’s got the blue tick so he’s obviously been properly verified and it can’t be someone that has just paid 5 pounds or whatever

It’s not him.
