I mentioned that because piano strings/wire were indeed sometimes used to hang deserters and traitors during the fall of the Reich. Also at least one episode I know of on the Eastern Front where piano strings were used to hang some people. Given that I know of at least 3 episodes, it is not outside reason that it was used a couple more times than that. Piano wire are quite sharp, it will lead to a kind of a slow decapitation and is regarded as a cruel way to hang someone.
As far as I know, some at least of the conspirators that sought Hitler’s death in 44 were hung with piano wires and Hitler personally watched the execution according to some sources (on film). Maybe string is the wrong word.
Anyway, it is not that important really.
Skimming google for a bit, I found that one of the cases where I have always believed piano wires were used, in reality used a thin hemp rope, at least according to wikipedia: ( Witzleben was put to death the same day at Plötzensee Prison in Berlin. By Hitler’s direct orders, he was hanged with a thin hemp rope,[3] which people who were not from the prison staff called a piano wire, wound around a meat hook, and the execution was filmed.[4][5] The footage has since been lost.[6]
His execution on 8 August 1944 was a particularly grisly affair. The 63-year-old field marshal was pushed into a cellar at Berlin’s Plötzensee prison, placed under a meat hook and, half-naked with a running noose around his head, he was lifted and slowly strangled." So maybe the piano wire hangings of the conspirators are just an urban legend, though that it was used elsewhere in a few novel cases is pretty certain. Sadists will be sadists after all.

I actually fear for what happens next, when the dust has settled and Biden is actually in the Whitehouse. These people will do anything to get back into power. They will up the anti on whatever methods they choose to manipulate and turn people to their will.
The repercussions world wide don’t really bear thinking about.
