Not at all, but I have “taken care” of our old friendship, and I know more details about the theories he believes in.
Just got a message from him, he is now sending me a podcast about the bible made by some guy called Mike Wenger. I have now promised to listen to it some day. That day will not be today.
Talking to people who you disagree with profoundly on matters which you disagree profoundly is mentally taxing, especially if you don’t want to be confrontational, and I now need some rest from Evangelical creeds.
He is really a nice guy though, there is reason why I want to take care of our friendship from time to time, but he is in a cult and he is blind to see facts when religion is mixed into it. I still appreciate him, but he taxes my mind when he wants to talk about politics, evangelistic Christendom and conspiracies.

How do you educate the ignorant?
To win Trump supporters over you have to show your as inflexible, unconcillatory and hypocritical as he is/was. There’s just no logic in it. As soon as you make a concession you have lost!
You can not even shame them as they are shameless.
Anyway why be nice to people that just are not?
Let’s not waste our time, push forward and hope things get better without these horrible blights on/in the world.

Are you sure? From my experience these people tend to double down.
The only way I can think of “helping” (not sure that’s the right word) is to either directly show them, so they can see with their own eyes that they are wrong. That’s incredibly difficult within politics or you sew a seed in their mind whereby they start tp question those beliefs.
I am of course talking about educating conspiracy theorists and the like. I don’t see a massive difference between some supporters of Trump and say, a Flat Earther to be honest.

‘Some’ of the educated ones might be susceptible to seeds, then I would argue they are not really, in my terms, a trump supporter. More likely being one for personal gain rather than the ideals behind it.
Of course there’s probably a good number of Republican voters who would be susceptible to seeds I would even argue that there’s some who are allready onboard to some reconciliation or at least some concessions (not many elected ones seem to have conceded to Biden yet though).
I’m only guessing here but Trump on a Republican card got 47% which I reckon probably less than 50% are ardent Trump supporters, more than 50% being Republicans. in other words Trump has a very good base of between 20 and 25% of voters in his pocket at least 70% of these will be die hard you’d need to be a bloody good psychologist to find the seed to make them budge an iota as for the rest well hard nut to crack as long as Fox news keeps up it’s efforts and elected Republicans don’t concede a thing (they are waiting to pounce on any weakness and have the media to convey their interests).
It’s a dangerous game to play it’s just not a one on one chat. Messaging has to be perfect all the time which would eventually lose you own support. Who should your message prioritise?

Got you. We’re talking about two different types. Those that are in it for personal wealth or whatever, whereas I’m talking about those that believe that Covid, isn’t a thing, masks are unnecessary, Democrats are actually evil, and Bill Gates is at the centre of everything.
