Yeh, sorry - essentially the legal principle that you cannot adjudicate on your own wrongdoing.
It’s a fundamental tenet of justice so I would have thought that any properly constituted highest court would apply it if the Constitution or other source of primary legislation or common law authority was silent on it.

I wonder what would happen if he pardoned himself for potential offenses, none of which were capable of being brought. Meaning to challenge his pardon some charges for which he had pardoned himself would need to be filed. Otherwise no case. If there were no case, would the fact of his unchallenged pardon of himself become an established legal precedent?

Wouldn’t it be meaningless? It can’t establish precedent unless a matter is determined by a Court and if it did act as precedent it would only relate to hypothetical charges not brought before a court so could never give occasion to be cited.

We’ve long been in new territory with Trump, so for me, anything is possible. A self-pardon is ludicrous, so perhaps that’s exactly what we will get! Biden doesn’t want to go after Trump, as it is so divisive to the country. Kamala Harris would go after him. And Manhattan and SDNY are standing by to go after him as soon as he isn’t protected by his office.
If it is in fact true that no person is above the law, Trump is screwed.
But I think there’s a fair claim to say that he is above the law. It’s awful to put it so bluntly, but he’s in his mid 70s and has been able to do what he wants, when he wants. So far the rules haven’t applied to him.
They need to! But will anything happen? I’m not holding my breath.

At least one person dead. Maybe more. But it may take a bit of time before they know how many for sure. May be someone who was inside the vehicle. Maybe not, not for me to say, but if remains are unrecognicable, it would make sense.

I don’t want a Christmas /New Year war. Would be tragic and a bit typical timing , but seems to have calmed down now. Still, 20 or more Stratostankers in the sky. Not often you see that outside massive military exercises.

Not confirmed but consistent rumour is that it was a QAnon type trying to destroy an AT&T server which was very close to the truck - as part of the 5g conspiracy. Doesn’t look like the aim was to kill anyone and the person who died is likely the bomber themselves.
But in all honesty who knows.

Resigning and having Pence pardon him is one of the possibilities openly under discussion. Does he trust Pence enough for that? That would likely end Pence’s political career, and possibly worse if that pardon could be demonstrated to be an element of a criminal conspiracy - pardon likely invalid, and Pence becomes part of it as well.
