The main problem with the US national anthem is that it’s a very difficult song to sing well. Lady Gaga did about as well as you could ever do there but more often than not it sounds terrible.

I think I’m right in saying that the tune to GSTQ is called “America” so that ought to mean we’re still on topic 
I do like the Italian anthem mind and if it was my own rankings I’d have La Marsellaise above the US anthem.

Principal asked the school comedy troupe to find a way to make them less dreary, have people settle in. The traditional start of ‘Oh Canada’ did not help that much. He gave them carte blanche.
They came up with a SNL-style skit with ‘Yuri and Ivan’ as characters, two Soviet soldiers. First assembly we were all asked to stand for the national anthem, and the Gosudarstvenny came booming out of the sound system, two Soviet soldiers marched on stage, and the Hammer and Sickle flag descended from the rafters. They had some funny routine that set up the theme of the assembly, and handed it over seamlessly.
I recall one of the slogans from one assembly was promoting tourism, ‘Visit Soviet Union before Soviet Union visits you’, scenic tours of Afghanistan. By the time I graduated I could sing most of the song in Russian, as could many of us. Given it was Reagan’s first term it was quite the counterpoint. At least one teacher was mortally offended.

In my book, one of Trump’s biggest tactical errors was continually drawing attention to Biden’s mental state. Not that Biden doesn’t flub speeches, but I think it unintentionally A. Set the bar really low for Biden and B. Drew attention to Trump’s own mental state. Anyone who has ever heard Orange Man can verify that he stumbles his way through words with the same five or so filler phrases, so I didn’t think that was the wisest move.
All told, another example of Trump projecting.

Yeah, the Knowledge Fight podcast made the same point. Trump supporters were so set on casting Biden as old and senile that when people actually heard him speak and he was competent then they come away with him exceeding their expectations and looking better in relative terms.
