Had the insurrection played out in courtrooms under the guise of tortured legalese, and not with a violent mob storming the Capitol on live television…how much outrage or resistance would the GOP have offered then?
I think alongside Burley, Boulton and others on Sky did a fair job as did some of those on C4.
No threat… apparently
You got to be kidding…
Bah! no anti tank gun that’s pussy shit.
let’s take videos of our criminal activity and post themon social media.
Video surveillance gone mad.
The insurrectionists see themselves as Patriots who are generally doing nothing wrong… other than serving their President in his fight against the deep state.
It’s laughable, but I think that’s why they weren’t covered up when they stormed the castle.
When it is Trump’s impeachment trial, I hope the Dems have a few clips to show of these idiots saying, “I went there because my President told me to. I did nothing wrong.”
How many of the rioters have been arrested so far?
The start of his presidential run starts by getting all [quote=“Livvy, post:6546, topic:905, full:true”]

This is what the FBI found in zip-tie guy’s house. Judge released him on bond today , ruling that he had shown respect for the law enforcement and wouldn’t pose a threat. https://twitter.com/JoshuaHol/status/1352817082048638977/photo/1

I get that Americans like guns, and they have a legal right.
However somewhere a line needs to be drawn. If you own 20 cats you would be considered unhinged. Yet have 20 guns and no risk is perceived.
American Conservatism showing its true color…
Like that’s a real thing.
Monarchy, dictatorship, communism, democracy. Every single system of human governance is flawed because humans are flawed. Monarchies have thrived in history under good kings, empires have flourished under good emperors. To categorically state that one is better than another is a fallacy in that a ‘democratic’ government can cause just as much damage as a communist one and so on and so forth.
That’s not to say I have the answer, I am also just as flawed.
Benevolent dictatorship is often cited as the optimum form of governance. As soon as I’m given the job we’ll find out.
They all thrive on lies and deceit. Until truth becomes the basis of any system there just will never be justice. Without responsibility there is no truth …
Respectfully disagree. Democracy is patently better than dictatorship just in terms of fairness. The decisions of an individual may occasionally coincide with the welfare of the general public, but there is no guarantee of that, and the probability of abuse of power is high. Monarchy has prevailed for centuries, but that doesn’t mean it’s the best solution. There are many customs and behaviours that humans have had for millennia, but which are not fair or effective.
I think where democracy wins out is you can change tack every 4 or 5 years. Plus with PR style elections thingstend more towards the centre which is probably the best compromise. The electorate gets a say. Dictatorship is for life or until violence wins over.
Dictators can change tact at a whim just like Boris Johnson.
There is an argument that the electorate has too much of a say.
Instead of doing what is best for the state as a whole, politicians focus purely on key demographics, to the detriment of the public in its entirety.
