Ding Dong.....the US Politics Thread (Part 1)

If you don’t vote for him he has access to the voter register, a silenced PPK and a nice quiet BMW(not like those noisy American V8’s)

It’s not a threat…

He’s not threatening you he’s just keeping you informed

Brcause he has a cool fetish with German guns with silencer surely ? Are you telling me that you are grey and boring enough not to vote for the guy with a James Bond gun who has longed for this gun since he was a little kid ?

Suck a cat’s wang, you fucking loons.

God I hope this thrashing prompts some introspection rather than some doubling down…probably not though…

Yeah, not looking good for Carrie Lake. Hold the cat’s wang until that one is official.

I don’t mean hold it hold it… Well, you know what I mean!

You have @SBYM at a bit of a disadvantage here, I’d imagine. Standing around with a cats wang in his hand looking all confused, ‘am I doing it right ?’

Nothing new there

Anybody beginning to entertain the idea yet that the Republicans might not even take the House ?

lol , yeah

Biden already called him on Wednesday to congratulate him. Imagine now if it turned out that was a little premature !

Conspiracy theorists and nut jobs would have a field day with it, tbh.

Let them. I think one thing this election showed is that a majority of Americans are no longer interested in their bullshit.

Because the fascist tech billionaire who owns him, who as a vested interest in controlling the information ecosystem, spent a lot of money criticizing the “elites”.

There was one called last night in WA that the Dem had only a 2% chance of winning per 538 the day of. This was one that had been in the presumed GOP tally until relatively late in the count.

Either way it’s going to be a razor thin margin and whipping the house for unanimity in the vote is always way harder than in the senate. In the environment of a perceived condemnation of MAGA, it opens the door for resistance against the worst excesses of the loonies from their own party.

Great graphic here from the NYT…

It really does seem possible that the Dems could retain the House…unbelievable really taking into account the narrative these past months.

Credit to Michael Moore who called this some time ago.

Political punditry is an odd thing. Mot pundits have a narrative and stick to it, and then when reality comes around to match up to that they look like geniuses. There is a very broken clock is right twice a day aspect to it. Similar to how Trafalgar, a partisan right wing polling group, got “credit” for solving the recent problem of Democratic bias in polling by just adding R+6 to every poll. It “worked” for the 2020 cycle, but did for the wrong reasons and so wasnt able to adjust to this midterm cycle.

Still though, being right like a broken clock is better than never being right, which is what the majority of the pundit class is.
