The rage that it is now hitting the GOP caucus is fascinating. Very much in the ‘leopards eat your face’ vein, but it crossed over into the personal today. The fact that the individual holdouts are naming their price makes it obvious.

Exactly. But they created Frankenstein, so my sympathy is highly limited. When you damage your own instituations for sake of blind power and owning the libs, it has consequences. They have now elevated the “right” people to Congress, so suffer them I say !

I have no sympathy at all. The Republicans I know and respect have been bludgeoned into silence and left the Hill years ago.

The GOP needs a guiljotine and a pogrom, not more votes with the current members of Congress. But they can’t get rid of them, so here we are. Being the vile lapdogs of Trump is starting to pay off.
The above post contained metaphors, just in case someone thinks I would advocate a summary execution of the most cretenous members of US congress. No, that would be damaging to US society and social fabric ,so I am naturally not for that. GOP still could use an Act of God to get rid of them though. But alas, they deserve no such intervetion.

McCarthy has apparently caved, and will now allow a single member to put forward a motion to remove the Speaker. So, if he wins tomorrow, he will be the least powerful Speaker in the history of the US Congress.
Cue chaos and gridlock
Surely there is an opportunity for the Democrats not just to sit by and laugh but to actually get Jeffries elected as Speaker? Would just need 6 (?) sane Republicans. They should be canvassing left, right and centre.
I would assume that the sane ones have already voted for him.
Matt Gaetz amongst others should be in jail, not holding his party to ransom.
