The Republicans will now, inside their media bubble, create a Dolchstosslegende concerning the “stolen election”, which will fester and grow. The Biden win is much too narrow to give him any sort of needed legitimacy, while on the other hand, the slim margin will make the GOP think that White Grievance is the way to go, just with a slightly less crazy president.
That is what I think will happen.

I think it will go on for decades due to the narrow win. If Biden had won big, the GOP would have incentives to change but no such incentives exists now as far as I see. Very much hope I am wrong though !

That’s the second time I’ve heard Biden being statesman like. Very good. I’m all for boring and normal and good messaging now. Like a Kier Starmer in the UK would be nice. Unfortuneately in France i can not think of anyone with a hope in that role.

Sometimes, when you have seen crazy, boring and normal is more than enough.
As for France I can’t comment. Know too little, I appreciate Macron’s defense of Freedom of Expression and French secular laws, but French society has a lot of other problems, as evidenced by occasional riots and the Yellow Vest movement. But this I don’t know enough about.
