If the only answer to an issue is I want to shoot someone, then maybe guns are the problem - apart from so many other reasons!
Just another day in Florida
And another day in Colorado. I was going to compare her to Sarah Palin, but Palin was not a grandmother until the more geriatric age of 46.
Her son !
Hmmmmm
Reminds me a friend I had who was involved in organizing a protest of Bristol Palin giving a speech at her university that was being organized by the campus abstinence organization. She was apparently getting $30k for the appearance and so they protested it being a bad use of student generated funds for someone without the requisite experience of student abstinence
That story is WILD. Tim Miller has been covering it hysterically
After some reflection, I think this Fox/Dominion situation really illustrates the limitations of the way people think about the attraction of the modern right wing.
It is now demonstrated beyond all argument that the Fox talking heads do not believe the things they give voice to while on air - Trump is a moron, he lost the election, there was no fraud, and engaging with that idea is dangerous. The rational reaction is to assume that Fox News viewers will react with horror at being lied to and walk away. We are now several weeks into this story and there is no evidence of it at all. Assuming this observation does reflect reality and is sustained, what does that say about using truth to reach these people? What does it say about what Fox offers people?
Best comment I heard about that was ‘it turns out the ending to Soylent Green isn’t credible’
Is it even being reported on Fox though ? Considering that Fox is the only news that most of the maga crowd consume , they’re probably still in blissful ignorance about being made fools of.
Soylent Green is people! Please explain.
People are fuckwits!
The revelation at the end of the movie would barely cause a fuss, people would just continue on
Perhaps. Soylent Red and Soylent Blue. There’s also Soylent Undocumented. This takes care of the border problem.
Setting politics aside, when is the triple feature? Soylent Green, Omega Man and Planet of the Apes? You may have Ben Hur. The period around 1970 is my vintage Heston.
I sometimes wonder if we haven’t drifted into a 1984 type era in the US and Europe. You have fear of distant wars (metaphoric and actual) that is propagated by a “mouthpiece” (media and/or politicians), the ability to consume and “have sports” and the fear of being watched all the time. Maybe it’s worse.
Alternatively we have systems that are old and have reached their various cul-de-sacs. Everyone just wants the status quo in the West and the heads are firmly in the sand… the price doesn’t matter as long as the footy is still on.
Michal Moore’s interview with him was a bit sad however…
Attack journalism on an old invalid. Horribly cringy.
Doesn’t erase my enthusiasm for his films. Still gonna watch Braveheart and What Women Want, too.*
I know a guy (was in my class in secondary school) that has now been in and out of institutions as an adult. He went into strangers houses and went to sleep in their bed…more than once, prior to being institutionalised. In Florida he would have been dead by now.
While he is a pretty messed up man today (he is insane and into race ideology and sends me strange messages on Messenger every other year, sometimes telling me I should never have been born because I have bad blood, at other times inviting me on trips. I never respond) to say the least, he doesn’t deserve to be killed.
