Ding Dong.....the US Politics Thread (Part 1)

Fucking hell…

I didn’t realise the below was one of their arguments…I thought it was all, ‘they’re not real votes, they’ve made them up’ etc…

Imagine going through life being that thick and/or intellectually dishonest.

Yes, and so he has been saying the entire time. I don’t get your criticism at all. I don’t see what you are even criticising. If you have been reading Thom Nichols, none of this is a surprise, but when he writes for the Atlantic he is also writing to people who do not have a deep understanding, logically enough. Nichols have been consistently saying that Trump’s base cannot be turned. He has pointed to the media and propaganda bubble. The only thing that has been unclear is the size of the base.

Which really gets to the origin of the absentee ballot - which makes that claim patently false. The Lincoln Project had a good quick hit on how odious this argument is.

Sadly I don’t think that’s enough.

I wonder how many votes are left in Georgia. 99% of votes counted, 0.4 percent lead to Trump. I wonder if it will be enough for Trump.

Nate Silver has said 61k

About 60k … Biden would need around 65%/35% though from what Nate posted I feel he falls just short, shame as it would make Arizona mute.

Fag packet calc but Biden needs somewhere between 65% and 70% of the remaining 60k to take the lead.

Due to the all too narrow Biden win. With an authoritarian Right Winger who does not spew pure nonsense, they will come back stronger. Or could. With a landslide Biden win they would have changed. Will not happen now.

Funny. As an aside, Conor Sen is a friend of mine. Absolutely lovely person and a genius (and I don’t say that lightly).

Toss up then … Especially as they probably favour Biden even more due them being absentee ballots
