Maybe remove all @SBYM posts while you’re at it then?
Haha @SBYM
Flat earthers rejoice
I don’t know who that guy is, but that seems a very generous portrayal of Cenk’s turn.
Some of the tensions on the left right now com down to the tactics of how to navigate the reality that MAGA got elected and will be in power. You look at people like Ro Khanna looking at the landscape trying to figure out where he can mitigate damage or even do some good and giving credibility to something as stupid as DOGE and getting criticized for it, mostly for what is essentially a criticism that he hasnt calibrated his outreach to them with the appropriate level of skepticism about their intentions and real interests. That seems to be what this Pakman guy is suggesting explains Cenk’s approach since the election, but it seems much more than that to me.
Somewhat surprised Young Turks still exist. Dude is probably looking for a new niche, always seemed like a bit of a megalomaniac.
Pakman was my gateway to internet politics back when I first moved to London, in 2015. No idea how I got onto him, to be honest, but from that TYT and The Majority Report started making their way into my feeds.
I never really liked Cenk, too shouty, stopped watching TYT ages ago. Never stopped watching The Majority Report, but catch it far less than I used to, turns out having a job and not studying full-time is a real drag…
Obviously over the last 8 years there have been some notable and hilarious pivots to the right…Jimmy Dore and Dave Rubin etc…never for a second thought TYT would be part of that particular milieu, but like I said, I haven’t been paying attention.
Cenk banging on about the donor class makes sense to me, on the surface at least, but throwing your lot in with bad-faith actors like Loomer and Bannon…eek…
Will be interesting to see if Cenk goes full-Dore/Rubin, both of whom I’d judge to be less sophisticated (more brazenly grifting). Interesting problem for the left if he does get lost in the RWNJ rabbit-hole…can’t imagine that transition would make the left more introspective, rather, it would likely prompt even more hand-wringing and bickering.
Easiest trick (and 98.7% right) in the world is just find out where the money’s going (or the sex).
My God… watch this guy transform the world in a fascist hell…
When will people finally wake up?
I would say it’s because of unfettered access by actors in bad faith such as Cambridge Analytica and Breitbart that the world is where it is right now and all the big social media companies are directly responsible.
Haha @Arminius
I’m at the point of asking what is Trump’s (and those behind him) end game here with all the rhetoric with Greenland, Panama and so on.
Get as much as possible in terms of mining rights in Greenland, lower fees for using the canal, get Canada to pay for the US war machine etc.
It’s basically bullying on an international scale.
The canal has legit economic security implications for the US and there have been elements of the US as an Empire movement itchy to regain control of ever since Carter signed the treaty that gave full control of it to Panama in the 70s. Everyone else has understood they cannot and should not just threaten them with force though.
Greenland has natural resources. I am sure this is as simple as someone mentioning to him they would like to pillage them
