Funny mind, plus he doesn’t take penalties.
Get the feeling that he’s not really impressed by the whole place, plays with such confidence. But not a confidence without working bloody hard.
I think that’s a little bit what Klopp was looking for last summer and saw a bit of spice in the characters of Tsimikas and Jota. He often mentions that with Tsimi (in a similar way when he speaks about Jones, like “confidence is not an issue with him”).
Jota isn’t stupid, he saw that our backups were people like Shaqiri and Origi, he saw that he’s about 5 years younger than our front 3, he saw how many games we play. Why not.
Another one who probably wasn’t even mentioned in the public as a potential option. Proof that there are solutions out there and when you have better players, you can rotate more and/or add a new layer (actually that’s what I think Thiago will do more than Jota, but Jota is also a fresh addition).
We finally got that 4th attacker that’s as good (or near to it as to not matter) as the main 3 attackers and I think it’s already starting to make a massive difference. We finally have options and selection choices along with having 3 quality starters even if one is not available for some reason.
He is the evidence that its not that we don’t invest, but we invest correctly and not go out and spend 200mil in one summer. And clever scouting, negotiations prove we can win off and on the field
Looks like we’ve got ourselves a proper player here, boys. I love the guy already.
Pity he’s already decided to leave us.
Or so a piece on the Daily Express claims, either going to Barca or Real in a few years as he wants to play for a bigger club.
I couldn’t even be bothered to read the whole article it was complete BS.
So do they still do Dennis the Menace, the Express, comic.
I only clicked on it as it came up on my newsfeed as a Liverpool story.
As I said I only part read it as I wanted to click on the Alien invasion stories
We’ve moved on and above that lot, players want to play here now.
Thought he was excellent last night.
When receiving the ball he uses his body well to shield the ball, and likes to do a Suarez-esqe turn and go (if you have a LFC TV account, you can see his best bits and he did it a good few times). He’s quick too, not super quick like Mane and Salah, but he carries the ball so well. Keeps things simple, moves well to find spaces.
Lets hope he can continue with this rich vein for form. Competition for places hasn’t been too difficult for Bobby, Mo and Sadio the last couple of years. Jota provides that now, and will help that competition too push the others to get better, whilst also giving a solid rotation option, saving legs of the aforementioned.
Edwards and Klopp - I tip my hat to you, once again.
Barca can’t afford that rapstar Depay at £25m,Real are saving up for Mbappe, they haven’t Jota chance of signing Diogo.
Oh, I have seen them…we do not have long. They are of course only here to see LFC, but who would believe it, which is why it must be kept secret.
I thought Liverpool were saving up for Mbappe!
Funny you say that as the move in which Fuchs bounced off him and stayed down afterwards really reminded me of Luis.
It was a really good performance, but I think a slightly under rated goal. The distance he made up to get on the end of that cross was amazing.
Klopp on Jota: “I liked him, honestly, from the first game I saw him playing for Wolves. That’s how it is. He had no idea about that, obviously, but for me it was always clear that when he was kind of in reach, I would go for him.
“I liked the discipline he showed, plus the creativity he showed, plus the desire he showed. And his skills are pretty good anyway, so I got a lot of good signs before we signed him that it could work out.”
Anyone else shitting their pants at an alert to a player thread, liking a post because it’s not about an injury, fuck sake.
A knee injury suffered in a meaningless game… There are very few things that you could criticise Klopp about but playing a relatively strong team in a meaningless match is one, especially as there almost hasn’t been a game in the past month where a Liverpool player didn’t get injured. And whenever the press say it’s the knee, I fear the worst, especially as they indicated that the swelling hadn’t subsided. Good thing that the front three are bang in form, eh, and that Origi and Shaqir- Oh, wait.
Like many have said prior to the CL game, there was absolutely no reason for him to play in this game and even if he was forced to start, could have subbed him at half time. Crazy…
Perhaps Klopp has been told that money is extremely tight due to COVID and that we could use the € 2.7m that one gets for a win in the CL group. Now we get € 900.000 for the draw.
We can say it was meaningless but I doubt that the club will say the same financially wise.
