Diogo JOTA: 2021/22

Not half bad…

Also running down the wing?

Next time we’ll have a song about Konate running down the wing.

:joy:

Don’t be ridiculous.

…it would be Matip.

Jota’s gota better non-penalty goals to minutes ratio for Liverpool than Salah.

Just saying.

The lyrics for Torres’ song were better but I can get used to this one.

True, the Jot-eh part is a bit weird. Regardless of the Portuguese pronunciation.

Wolves fans werent too sad to see Jota leave them though. They didn’t seem to rate him all that high.

Wonder if this makes them revisit their opinion

That transfer materialized out of thin air. I had no idea he was on the radar, or even thought he was available. Was thrilled when we signed him, always like watching him play for them and wondered why he didnt play that much. That reveal video was awesome as well.

Yeah, I was thrilled as well. But I also thought he was Neto.

Fans rate Traore, while Jota silently goes on to have a much better career.

I remember a few thought that, hadn’t a clue which one was who.

Glad we signed him, he isn’t the finished article but he is improving month on month.

Jota’s biggest strength for me is his movement in the box, his intelligence. That’s not quite as eye-catching as other qualities, and playing in a defensive, counter-attacking Wolves side it wasn’t always on show.

That’s why it was a truly excellent piece of scouting. There were probably countless players with better goal records around Europe who were simply playing under more favourable conditions.
