Diogo JOTA: 2024/25

The one game I wanted Jota to not miss was against Arsenal.

I broke a rib in January when I had pneumonia. Could barely move for two weeks but I used swimming as physiotherapy and it really helped. Obviously, I’m not an athlete but Diogo will have access to the best medical care available.

Sort of glad it isn’t leg related.

I wonder if he is basically fit now and they didn’t want to risk him playing for Portugal?

Was it confirmed exactly what the problem was? If it is a broken rib then it would be 4-6 weeks minimum. I doubt he would have been able to play on at all if it was broken. I had a broken rib back in January and I could barely breathe, let alone run.

I’m guessing it was bruising, which is painful but should clear up quicker.

I don’t think so, but if you read the article, it’s meant to be a couple of weeks after the international break that he’ll be back, which is pretty much that 4-6 weeks timeline, no?

Today is his birthday too.

Might explain why he wasn’t at training or in the photos in the last week.

Really good cameo today. Looked sharp, active in different aspects of the game, showed his natural balance and nous for being in the right place at the right time.

Excellent when he came on just kept finding those pockets of space and great finish for his goal

The way he jinxes inside and sells the dummy is majestic…what would also be majestic is him staying fit until at least the new year.

Fingers crossed that’s his annual injury.

Injured AGAIN?!?!

Shame he’s made of biscuits, would fancy we’d have a few more trophies in the cabinet if he could stay fit. A lot of talk of Nunez being moved on in the summer, wouldn’t be a shock if the club were open to Diogo leaving as well.

Nah, I fully expect him to stay here.

Hopefully both back for Plymouth, not too bad.

Fixtures are kind really, only Ipswich and Bournemouth in the PL for the next 3 weeks, we can probably lose both CL games and still finish top 8, Plymouth in the cup and then Spurs in the Caraboa.
I think most of us want the PL over everything else so not too bothered.
