The way he is going America will be isolated from lots of former friends, and the world will have a new reserve currency. His notion of American exceptionalism is off the chart, and he doesnāt appear to realize that other countries will hit back.

I think there are real, capable people behind Trump, and they believe in their agenda. Project 25, Miller, lots of others.
I think Trump is a racist scumbag, but he is also a base human being, without too many thoughts in his head. One thing he is clear about is enriching himself. Everything is for sale, and when his term is over I think he will be worth $500 billion.
It hasnāt got much attention yet, but his crypto currency has already made him tens of billions. It isnāt as regulated at bit coin and it cannot be tracked. It is ripe for anyone to buy favors. Trump was against Tik-Tok and it was about to be banned, due to security concerns. He had 80 Senators on board who were with him. But then money - lots of money - changed hands, and next thing you know, Tik-Tok stays open for business in America.
Extrapolate this out many, many times over. Business favors. Political favors. Geopolitical favors.
When his term is over I expect Trump to be worth $500 Billion. His other hope is for a political dynasty to go beyond Kennedy and Bush.
I donāt think he gives too much of a shit about anything, but as it happens, the extreme right has got him in power, and he will enact their play book because they will keep him in power while he enriches himself.

Right now it looks like Canada might and certainly many friends in Canada seem favourably disposed to stop buying US goods as Trudeau said.
A few fast food chains may be the early recipients if that is widespead.

When I briefly lived in Texas, I went for a dinner party at a clearly-rich early 40ās Pakistani-American doctorās house. He was a practicing Muslim.
He said he voted for Trumpā¦just because Trump said he would lower his taxes.
Thatās it! Never mind the significant and noticeable uptick in Islamophobia Trump ushered in (starting with the travel ban). Never mind all his own people being put in difficulty. Just for lower taxes.
Makes me sick.

The thing is, the American public that voted him in havenāt got a leg to stand on. Unlike the Leave campaign in the UK that lied through their teeth prior to the vote, Trump was pretty honest in what heād do and heās been doing it since getting into office.
The dick heads that voted for him that are as thick as two short planks are getting what he promised - misery for the poor and prosperity for the obscenely wealthy. Live with it. They donāt have a single excuse except for their lack of intelligence.
