It would be quite amusing if tariffs are cancelled but the anti US sentiment sticks in Canada, or anywhere for that matter.

This is basically the story of Trump. This is an era we could probably define as being kind of new cold war, with growing Chinese influence and the US trying to implement a foreign policy focused on how offer enough by to those countries to keep them out of China’s clutches, Trump comes in and basically tells everyone that China is a more reliable partner for them.
First time around lots of countries had the eyes opened to the possibility, but didnt want to over react. The inability of the US to discard Trump after 2020 made many realize this was a reality they should explore. His reelection has removed any doubt.
